James Ira Devitt

I am not one to write reviews, ever, but I felt led to do so with respect to Mr. Devitt. Several years ago he represented me in DUI case and I literally lost as a result of his laziness, careless and lack of preparation. With all due respect, James is a prima donna and a quarter of the attorney he is... in his own mind. Friendly guy, I’m sure fun to hang out with...but really lousy attorney!

About a year ago my niece found herself facing some serious charges. After visiting her in jail my family and I ran across a young lady who gave me Mr. Devitt's card and said call him. The best decision I ever made. Not only is he knowledgeable but he gives it to you straight. Having counsel that kn...ows what he's doing makes all the difference in the world. He's very responsive and flexible. We were able to have a consultation over the phone and have a game plan. He even went to visit her in jail to give her encouragement. My niece ending up facing no charges at all. It's no wonder that a year later my niece got into another bad situation , I didn't hesitate to call Mr. Devitt. Again the outcome was favorable, she ended up facing no charges. Truly glad I met Mr. Devitt. I will definitely refer him to anyone in need.

HOW MANY TIMES I PAYED MANY ATTORNEYS. I PAID LIKE MORE THAN 4 AND NONE RESULTED IN THE WAY I WANTED. HORRIBLE WORK, THEY DIDNT EVEN SHOW UP TO MY CASES, SO I WAS HOPELESS RIGHT THERE IN MY CELL IN COUNTY JAIL SITTING FOR ALMOST 7 MONTHS. A FRIEND OF MINE INSIDE THERE TOLD ME THAT I COULD CALL THIS G...UY NAMED JAMES & THAT HE WAS TRYING HIS CASE & THAT HE WAS ABOUT TO COME OUT IN 2 WEEKS. IN MY DESPAIR, I CALLED HIM & HE ANSWERED QUICKLY IN A POLITE MANNER. HE ANWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS & FROM THEN ON HE TOOK MY CASE. HE EVEN OFFERED A DISCOUNT & SET UP A MONTLY PAYMENT WITH GRACE PERIOD. AFTER TAKING MY CASE ABOUT A MONTH AGO, HE SET ME FREE FROM JAIL & SAVED FROM PRISON. IM RIGHT HERE WITH MY FAMILY CELEBRATING THIS GREAT MAN WHO DESERVES THE SUPPORT OF EVERY CALIFORNIAN.

I've never been in trouble before, so when I was caught and charged with a DUI, I was beyond scared. I'm completely oblivious to how the system works. My friend recommended James and it was a godsend. Right off the bat, he laid out exactly what I should expect, what the outcomes could be, and wh...at my options are. He quickly answered any questions I threw his way. And we never crossed any boundaries until he made 100% certain that I was comfortable with any of the decisions being made. The actual process went far smoother than I assumed. I barely had to deal with the courts and in the end, I got the best possible outcome. One thing that sticks out about James his that he's really personable and helpful. I never felt intimidated by him, but knew that he had a firm grasp on everything going on. I would recommended him in a heartbeat to anyone else in a similar situation.

If it wasn't for this man, I'd be in huge trouble for something totally out of my hands. I came to him when I was wrongfully arrested for battery (in all honesty, it was self defense). Although I was in a hysterical mindset, he helped me get what I needed: justice. He didn't point fingers or beat aro...und the bush- everything was straight forward. He actually put everything in perspective for me and we got through it together. Not once did he leave me hanging. When we got to court, he thoroughly proved to the courtroom that I was a victim and the case was dismissed. I would highly recommend Mr. Devitt. Not only is he professional and honest, but he's also very kind!
