I was in a dispute over the sale of a 5-unit commercial property because the buyer, after the sale was completed discovered that one of the units was actually considered to be residential and was taking me to mediation to have a portion of the sale price returned to him and was asking for a ridiculou...s amount. I was completely unaware that all units were not commercial and to be honest I felt that both my broker and the escrow company dropped the ball in many ways and got me into this bind. In the beginning of mediation I thought that maybe we might not have a position that would be strong enough for a favorable outcome. But as things moved forward Ronen was able to use angles that were creative and effective. He was able to bring both my broker’s agency and the escrow company and to shoulder a majority of it the settlement. Not only did I obtain the releases I needed so that I could walk away from the transaction with a piece of mind, but after being the sole respondent in a mediation demanding that I cough up over $300k, I ended paying barely 10 percent of that amount. :)
