It is incredible that a phone call could change your life in minutes. I have been in the US for the last 22 years and I visited around 10 different lawyers getting the same answer: NO.  My adjustment of status case was complicated, but all the lawyers I contacted for years gave me either false h...opes (leading the case under wrong setting which could eventually result in rejection by USCIS and possible deportation) or told me to wait for the law to change one day.  Sometimes we trust lawyers' opinions and that is the final step we make. In my case I lost so many years in opportunities, in visiting my friends from my country, I even missed my dad's funeral.  My mind was set that my case was doomed. Originally we thought we needed to go through consular processing and waiver, upon a closer review it turned out that we could apply for adjustment without leaving the US, and through a completely different route, with adjustment based on old relative's petition all prior lawyers simply dismissed.  John really dedicates his time to each case he takes and provides quality work for his clients, without dragging the cases for years (we experienced that firsthand before with a "lawyer" who kept charging the case managing fee for months before we figured out we had no case!)  In the phone call prior to the consultation, John asked me key questions that ultimately led to a successful resolution of our adjustment of status immigration case. During the consultation, he outlined all possible outcomes and our actions, explained all relevant precedent cases, checked on all our USCIS correspondence and documents, prepared a list of pending things for submitting the packet to USCIS. He was clear and direct about the fees, which were very reasonable, and to the end of the case he kept true to the agreement.  After packet was submitted, he kept in touch and let us know when there were any changes, with same day responses to any of our concerns and questions.  All in all, from paperwork submission to final interview, the process took us 9.5 months.  We as a family have nothing but great respect and admiration for his professionalism and detail-oriented approach on the preparation of the documents, on how to coach us for final interview and how he backed us up in person at the final interview.  John has a special charisma and his presentation is a plus at the time of the interview. No doubt he is up to date in the always changing policies and rules from the USCIS. That is an important factor, a decisive factor that could change things for the better.
