I've been practicing law for nearly two decades, and I've spent most of that time fighting for people against the institutions that are supposed to take care of them.
I was born in Iran. When I was six, my family fled because we were Jewish and faced religious persecution. After a year in Austria, we came to the United States as asylees. I graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from UCLA, and I graduated in the top 1% of my class, magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. I clerked for Judge Mary M. Schroeder on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, then spent nearly a decade at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in its class action and appellate practice groups.
I had worked at the highest levels of the law, but representing people in power wasn't fulfilling for a kid who was forced out of his own country by people in power. So I left. When a close friend was hurt in a car accident and insisted I take his case, I found where I belong: the little guy against the big guy. I founded Redefine Law Firm in 2016, and since then I have only represented injured people and employees, on a contingency fee basis.
I've represented hundreds of clients in car, truck, motorcycle and pedestrian accidents; uninsured and underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) claims and arbitrations against carriers including AAA, State Farm, Wawanesa, Kemper, Travelers, Mercury and Progressive; slip-and-fall and trip-and-fall cases; product liability, including tire blowouts; and employment cases involving pregnancy discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination and whistleblower retaliation. My firm and I have been part of recoveries totaling more than $50 million. I speak English and Farsi, and my office has Spanish-speaking staff.

Real estate Transaction
Trust is key in business and Babak Lalezari has my trust 110%. Just speaking to him on the phone gave me a real sense that I was in good hands. I hired him to help with a real estate transaction and he was absolutely great. He cares deeply about his clients and holds himself to a standard which I ...

Highly recommended
Babak Lalezari has worked for me and my business on several matters--litigation, drafting and reviewing equity contracts and employment agreements. He has always done an incredible job. I have never had to wait for hours to see an associate, or stay on hold when we called. I would highly recommend ...

A legal pro!
Babak helped me with some privacy violations committed by my school. He was respectful, kind, and informative. He answered all of my questions, explained every step of my case and constantly updated me with its progress. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone who might need legal assistance.

Great attorney
I came into a situation where someone was suing my company. I was lucky to find Babak from Caliber Law Firm through a referral. It was my company's first lawsuit and Babak was able to break everything down for us and was always there when we needed him or had any questions. He is smart as a whip a...
"I wholeheartedly endorse Babak. We've worked together in assisting several mutual clients, and he is sharp, dilligent, and very dedicated. I don't refer clients lightly- though I have and will continue to use Babak as a trusted referral."
"Babak is a friendly, highly capable and zealous advocate for his clients. I had the pleasure of working with him on behalf of a mutual client in connection with a case involving voluminous records and extremely technical legal and procedural issues. At all times, he showed a solid command of the facts, the law and strategies needed to be successful. I highly recommend Babak."
"I whole-heartedly endorse this lawyer. I have worked with Babak on numerous cases, and he exhibits nothing but professionalism, cunning, and intelligence. Babak has been a friend and mentor to me since before I enrolled into law school. His character and integrity are something that every lawyer should strive toward."
"Way back when, before he went into practice and hung up his shingle, Babak was my law school professor of appellate advocacy. He is an expert in his field. His training at a powerful Am Law 100 firm combines with excellent instincts and writing skills. I count Babak as a mentor, and I can think of nobody I would rather give my own case. Highly endorse."
"On numerous occasions I have referred matters outside my area of practice to Mr. Lalezari and time after time the clients' I referred have come back with high praise of Mr. Lalezari's skills and his relentless pursuit of their respective legal matters. Mr. Lalelzari's grasp of the many different nuances of law and his ability to use creative strategies make a world of a difference when it comes to getting the best result for his clients. I have now referred a handful of cases to Mr. Lalezari and will continue to do so. I unequivocally endorse Mr. Lalezari!"
"Mr. Lalezari served as co-counsel with my law firm on a personal injury matter involving complex liability and serious injuries. His knowledge of the law and litigation background was very helpful in resolving the matter in our client's favor. I highly recommend Babak and his law firm."
"Babak is a highly skilled, thoughtful and considerate attorney. He cares deeply about his clients and is devoted to their cause. Having worked with Babak on multiple litigation matters, I have seen the amount of time and energy he invests in his cases. I endorse him without reservation."
