Born in Chicago and raised in California, Pinky Ghuman learned determination, resilience, and ingenuity from her parents, who immigrated to the United States to pursue the American Dream. She believes everyone is entitled to a safe, fair, and equitable work environment, where everyone has a right to work hard and achieve their American Dream.
While paying her way through Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, Ms. Ghuman was on the Scott Moot Honors Board. She also spent two years clerking at local law firms, where she learned the “nut and bolts” of lawyering that many law students learn only years later.
Immediately after law school, Ms. Ghuman negotiated employment and housing discrimination/harassment claims at the nation’s largest civil rights government agency: California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing. Ms. Ghuman’s track record includes achieving six-figure recoveries and non-monetary relief (e.g., agreements to do business differently subject to court enforcement).
Since leaving the DFEH, Ms. Ghuman has successfully prosecuted many civil lawsuits on behalf of the working and underserved communities in Bakersfield – and established that she is a champion for people from backgrounds and walks of life.
As the owner of the Ghuman Law Firm, Ms. Ghuman handles cases of all kinds, shapes, and sizes related to employment law and business law. Ms. Ghuman is devoted to protecting workers’ rights and improving California workplaces.
Additionally, in 2018, Ms. Ghuman was selected through a rigorous selection process for the Southern California DFEH Volunteer Mediator Panel. As a member on the panel, she, as a neutral third party, mediates and negotiates with parties to achieve favorable results for disputes arising out of violations of law in employment and housing contexts.
In 2020, Ms. Ghuman was recognized as a Rising Star by SuperLawyers in Southern California.
Regarding the matter, Ms. Ghuman is a zealous advocate for her clients’ interests and making sure each client receives the finest legal representation at every phase of a case.
