Inexperienced

Unfortunately, I was referred to this lawyer by the firm’s owner when he could not take my case. I was under a time crunch to get a response to the court and needed an attorney immediately. Ms. Richards is a 30-year-old attorney with minimal law experience; less than four years’ experience (at the ...time she took the case). She worked in a criminal defense frim representing white collar crime. She had no knowledge about restraining orders which was what my case entailed. First she arrived to court late and then surfed the internet shopping while we waited for my case to be called. The judge was substituted by a county commissioner who explained to the court that she was familiar with all of the cases and had determined that many would be mediated. At that time, I asked Ms. Richards if my case was going to mediation and she responded no. Ms. Richards never discussed with me the pros and cons of mediation, nor did she ask me if mediation was the route I wanted to take. Although, this case involved a restraining order, the sensitivity of the matter involved my birth father. My case was called to mediation and I was dumbfounded, emotional and completely numb that I would have to face my birth father. Mediation took place in the hallway of the courthouse in front of the elevators where individuals were getting on and off the elevator. The mediator approached me and wanted me to “tell my side of the story” at which time I became overwhelmed with emotion. Ms. Richards was hired to represent me. Not one time did she say to the mediator, let me contribute to the conversation as Ms. Eversole is extremely distraught. Ms. Richards lacked compassion and understanding and did not represent me. She just sat there while I had to explain the entire case to the mediator. Additionally, Ms. Richards refused to present a letter to the plaintiff in spite of my request to do so. I would never recommend this attorney to anyone.

Great experience!

Kristen was extremely helpful and professsional from start to finish. She has represented me multiple times and I was amazed with the results I received. She diligently worked on my cases paying a lot of attention to the details and was able to negotiate terms way bettter than I thought were possible...! I recommended her to a friend too and they were extremely satisfied with the results.
