I've been in the US since I was about 2. My parents applied and became residents along with my brothers and sisters. I've had a green card ever since, never really thought about it or ever considered becoming a citizen. Sure enough, a couple years back I got into a fight, I pleaded to a charge which ...basically got me transfered to ICE when completing my sentence. My family went to David and hired him. I found that with the conviction I plead to, I would be a mandatory detainee without an option to stay in the country. End result was that they went to the criminal court fixed it so I could apply for an application called 42a which the judge granted. I was released from custody and no more courts. After I was releaser from immigration, we went back to the criminal court and have been doing some classes and caltrans which I believe will help me lower my criminal charge. This experience really sucked but it was a wake up call. I'm blessed to have had this second opportunity at life here in the US with my family, thanks to David. I'm hoping to become a citizen in a year and a half when I am eligible. I am very grateful to my attorney for being there for me and not taking advantage of my family.
