big mistake going to this law office

In 2013 I came to Varzandeh Houman Law Offices for consultation. During consultation I was told that I need to hire Mr. Alan Fenster to vacate 2005 I was guilty. I made appointment with Mr. Alan Fenster and came in for consultation. On my appointment I felt he was not pleasant person to deal with bu...t I had no choice since at the office of Varzandeh I was told he was the only attorney who can help me. So i hired Mr. Fenster and paid $ 7000.00. Mr. Alan Fenster said he will vacate process of my case in few months, when I asked him what is few months he raised his voice and repeated I said few months . in the results, He worked on my case 22 months. I had to plea guilty to a different charge, which now on my record as 2014 case. The case was not handled with care, with a small mistake he made and not make it clear that is was 2005 case, now I m Immigration court on removal proceedings and my Green card was taken away from me. I contacted Mr. Fenster trying to explain my situation, his response was not to call him about this case again

I do not know who you are and you have never been a client of Varzandeh Anderson LLP. I am sorry about your poor experience with another law firm. However, you seem to misunderstand that I am neither Alan Fenster nor am I responsible for Mr. Fenster's work or relationship with you. Our office is not in ANY way part of Mr. Fenster's law firm. When people have serious criminal issues, as you have conceded that you have in your review, I try to help them out by referring out to multiple criminal lawyers to either vacate the plea or change the plea. Many different names were given to you and you were free to choose from that list, OR ANY criminal lawyer you liked. I did not encourage you to hire Mr. Fenster in any way and in fact I always encourage people to choose the attorney they are most comfortable with. You are responsible for your decsion to hire other attorneys and your review is outrageous as you have never had a legal relationship with my office. Once again, I am sorry that you are not happy with the work of Alan Fenster but Mr. Fenster is not a lawyer that works at Varzandeh Anderson LLP, nor are we criminal lawyers.

Criminal defense attorney's invaluable advisor and colleague

After 45 years of practicing criminal defense, which increasingly involves collateral immigration consequences, I finally found an immigration attorney who knew what he was talking about and in whom my client and I could put our trust. Immigration law has become very pervasive and complicated and ha...s many subtle, but critical, ramifications. Land mines are everywhere. I have consulted with Houman for years and refer all of my clients to him when they also have immigration issues. He has never failed me or my clients and I recommend highly.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"Houman Varzandeh is a truly exceptional attorney. He possesses a rare combination of extraordinary intelligence and an unparalleled knowledge of the law with a uniquely principled and compassionate approach to his clients. I feel honored and humbled to work with him and am amazed daily by the brilliant solutions he finds for even the most complex of legal situations. Because he has been both a prosecutor for the INS--under the prestigious Attorney General's Honors Program--and served for many years as a defense attorney, he is unusually positioned to understand immigration law from all facets. I could not endorse him more highly as he is, by far, the best immigration attorney I have had the pleasure to work with."
