Very unprofessional

We hired Varzandeh's office for the immigration naturalization case. He was never available to talk or meet despite making appointments ahead of time. He had cancelled every single appointment we made thru his staff and sometimes they even didn't have it on their calendar when we were calling the off...ice. He showed up 40 minutes late in the day of the interview , and the office staff were lost every time we were calling the office to ask questions. It was such a terrible experience from the beginning to the end. They have failed to complete the work and we have wasted our time and money trusting them to work on our case. He refused to talk to us after we requested an appeal on the Case and his staff were saying he is out of office everything we called in. He is so unprofessional and very unpleasant to work with.

Feared and Revered Immigration Defense Attorneys

We recommend Varzandeh Anderson LLP wholeheartedly and without reservation. We were referred by an attorney/friend in the Department of Homeland Security who told us Houman and Lisa were two of the most feared and revered immigration defense attorneys in California. We have learned firsthand that thi...s reputation is well deserved. Having worked as U.S. government immigration attorneys for years before opening their firm, Houman and Lisa have the knowledge, skills, drive, and heart to successfully represent immigration law clients. They not only met, but far exceeded, our lofty expectations for extraordinary legal representation. Our case was undoubtedly complex: a male same-sex couple arguing for political asylum from Colombia based on fear of persecution for homosexuality. To prevail, we had to successfully argue our marriage was a “changed circumstance” that materially affected eligibility for asylum. Moreover, our original trial attorney had waited 8 months to file our case, so there was a legal question as to whether we filed within a reasonable period of the changed circumstance. Unfortunately, with the gross errors made by our previous attorney, the Immigration Judge ruled against us on both issues and during a brief court recess, our previous attorney strongly encouraged us to waive our right to appeal the decision. We knew then that it was time for new, more effective legal representation. We listened to our friend’s advice and contacted Varzandeh Anderson LLP immediately. Houman and Lisa took our case straight to the Board of Immigration Appeals in Virginia, arguing ineffective assistance of counsel, that our marriage constituted a changed circumstance, and that we had filed within a reasonable period of this changed circumstance. The Board ruled in our favor and granted our application for political asylum. Quite honestly, we were shocked but remain convinced that this life-altering outcome simply would not have been possible without the legal assistance of Varzandeh Anderson LLP. Since that time, Houman and Lisa have handled our 22 year-old son’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals filing under President Obama’s Executive Order. Our family is no longer living in the shadows and under the fear of deportation. Our experience with Houman and Lisa has revealed that they are professional, knowledgeable, timely, realistic, and above all kind and respectful. We not only consider them our attorneys, but members of our extended family as well. We simply cannot recommend them highly enough. For your sake, please give them a call today. We did and our lives have been changed in unbelievably positive ways forever.

"Houman Varzandeh is a truly exceptional attorney. He possesses a rare combination of extraordinary intelligence and an unparalleled knowledge of the law with a uniquely principled and compassionate approach to his clients. I feel honored and humbled to work with him and am amazed daily by the brilliant solutions he finds for even the most complex of legal situations. Because he has been both a prosecutor for the INS--under the prestigious Attorney General's Honors Program--and served for many years as a defense attorney, he is unusually positioned to understand immigration law from all facets. I could not endorse him more highly as he is, by far, the best immigration attorney I have had the pleasure to work with."
