Very professional and knowledgeable. Quick responses very helpful. Her staff made me feel very welcomed and always got back to be fast. Very open communication. Would highly recommend for anyone going through a divorce.
Lauren only practices family law because she has a passion for representing real people with real problems. Practicing family law typically entails more than just representing a client. A family law attorney must be prepared to handle the nebulous, emotional issues that are often accentuated during family law disputes. Thus, the family law attorney must be able to provide their client with the resources and emotional support so that the family can move forward, even if the marriage cannot. Lauren provides her clients with compassionate, yet honest representation.
Lauren frequently appears in court on behalf of her clients. She is prepared, efficient, and articulate. Lauren also has a passion for helping clients outside of the courtroom. She handles divorce mediations – either acting as the neutral mediator for a couple seeking a divorce or representing one party in mediation. Lauren also practices collaborative divorce, which is a process whereby a team of professionals, including attorneys, mental health professionals, and financial professionals work together to amicably and efficiently separate a marriage.
Lauren graduated from Bucknell University in 2006 and then obtained her law degree of the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2011. Lauren’s interest in family law began right after she graduated law school, while she was clerking for Judge James T. Russell in Carson City, NV who presided over many family law cases. After her clerkship, Lauren went to work for the law firm Allison, MacKenzie, Pavlakis, Wright & Fagan, in Carson City, Nevada practicing family law. Later, Lauren practiced family law at the law firm Woodburn and Wedge in Reno, Nevada. During her tenure there, Lauren was named in the annual list, “Legal Elite 2015: Nevada’s Top Attorneys.”
Lauren is married, has two children, and two dogs. Lauren enjoys spending time with her family outdoors in Northern Nevada.

Positive: Professionalism, Quality
I have been a client of Berkich Lucey Law since early 2019. Lauren Berkich represented me through 8 months of mediation and through another 6 months of the litigation process where she helped me deal with a difficult ex-spouse and obnoxious opposing council. The divorce process can feel complex but Lauren and her paralegal, Ashley, guided me through the journey with patience.
The process of divorce has such a negative connotation, especially walking into an unknown arena where the legal diction and required documents can be tedious and intimidating, all while going through an emotional roller coaster. Lauren and Ashley's service has transformed my negative connotation of this process to a positive one. Quite honestly, I wish I had contacted them sooner!
I chose Lauren because of her firm's philosophy. From the start she was very personable which helped to calm my stress and ease my concerns, her sense of understanding made my transition comforting. I will return to her again for my future family needs. Without a doubt her poised personality, flexibility and patience have been much appreciated. I highly recommend her service. I am positive she will render the same to you.

Completely Satisfied & Thankful
I am very pleased with the way Lauren and her staff are handling my child custody case with my X fiance'. On the level of communication, feedback, and efficiency, the staff have exceeded my expectations. I met with Lauren for an initial consultation. I thought my X and I were disputing the equity in our home (in which she wanted all of it) and not the custody of our daughter. After explaining the situation to Lauren, she did some research and found out that my X through her attorney, filed all sorts of paperwork behind my back trying to gain full custody of my daughter and steal the equity in our home. Needless to say, I hired Lauren on the spot and cancelled my appointments with other attorney's. I was thankful Lauren was willing to accept the case. The communication & feedback is excellent. Anytime the opposing attorney sent an email or filed paperwork, I was aware of it almost immediately. I'm also pleased with the level of efficiency of the staff. We live in a digital world, I've saved a lot of money being able to scan documents, pictures, and old text messages in support of my case without having to make an office visit.
Even though my case hasn't concluded, I feel Lauren and the staff are working hard so that my case will have a positive outcome. I'm confident in that, and I'm confident in recommending Lauren if any of my friends or family should need representation.

Family Law
Lauren has been my attorney for almost a year with a very high conflict custody case. Lauren is very professional and direct, she will provide advise that truly benefits the case even if it is not aligned with your personal desires. She has a friendly staff and is cautious of your fees and tries to help keep costs low when possible.

Unprepared
Lauren Berkich failed to be savvy of my (her clients') large financial details which ended up losing me a lot of money. The reason Berkich failed to be savvy of my financial details is because she wasn't interested in listening to me when I was trying to inform her about large financial accounts. The reason Berkich wasn't interested in the details of my financial accounts is because she kept telling me "this is just a case management conference" and that "the stakes are low." Well guess what, at the case management conference, the judge encouraged all parties to settle. So it quickly turned into something much more than "just a case management conference." Sure enough, at the case management meeting, all parties settled and I had to do all the talking to the judge because my lawyer wasn't up to speed on my information.

Thank you for your feedback. If your case was settled before trial, then that type of resolution would require both parties to agree to the settlement. Settlements cannot occur without the consent of both parties. Often times from a business perspective it makes more financial sense to settle a case, rather than proceed to trial or the next stage of litigation. This is especially true if there is little hope of financial success at trial because of the confines of the law. Unfortunately, while I can help guide my clients and advocate for them, I cannot change the law. I am very honest with my clients about their legal position. If I have very little hope that they will be successful at trial, then I will let them know and encourage them to settle. In my opinion, the worse case scenario is to go to trial, lose, and still have to pay your attorney.
