Replied last October 17, 2019We are mindful of the cost of litigation, and advise each of our client's that litigation can be expensive. In this case, the client claims that he "went through nearly $6,000 in legal fees." This is not the case. The amount spent was $2999.75. It was the client's choice to dismiss the divorce case and to not proceed, which was a personal decision on his part. Additionally, I have reviewed this client's billing statements, and they accurately reflect the services performed whether by myself or by staff members tasked with work (at a lower rate than had I done the work, which ultimately saved the client money). We do not and did not "double bill." All in all, it appears that this client was happy with the legal advice which he was provided by my firm, and I am pleased that he acknowledged this.

Replied last October 17, 2019We strive to provide the best quality legal service to our clients, charge our clients accurately and fairly, and be responsive to their questions and concerns. In this particular case, Kasey was overseas and often not available by phone or otherwise. In fact, there were periods of time when our office was unable to get in touch with him. Regardless, we successfully handled his custody matter, and a final custody decree has been signed. Notably, the opposing party wanted to strip Kasey of all custodial rights to his child, and we successfully fought against this, securing him joint legal custody and visitation time with his child. This was one of our success stories. This client is mistaken as to the fees and costs which he paid. To date, he incurred approximately $9,700 in fees and costs, not the $15K claimed. Finally, a refund of his unused retainer will be processed at the completion of this matter, which we anticipate to be by the end of this month. His suggestion that we are holding his money is just plain wrong.
