Summer Xiaoxue Squires

Originally from Beijing, Summer Xiaoxue Squires brings a wealth of experience and a global perspective to her family law practice at McFarling Cohen Fic & Squires.

After arriving in the U.S. in 2010, she earned degrees from Indiana University Bloomington and DePaul University College of Law. Her legal career began with a strong emphasis on service and advocacy, including clerkships in the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County and hands-on work with survivors of domestic violence.

Summer’s professional background includes substantial civil litigation and matrimonial law experience, having worked with both corporate and municipal law departments and a top Chicago family law firm before joining MCFS as an associate and, in 2025, becoming a partner.

Summer is a certified Child’s Representative and is recognized for her calm, effective approach in high-stakes family law matters, including appeals and cross-border disputes. She actively supports the Asian American legal community as Co-Director of Communications for the Asian Bar Association of Nevada.

As a new mother and recent immigrant, Summer offers clients keen cultural awareness, resilience, and a commitment to providing principled, client-centered representation both inside and outside the courtroom.
