When my divorce became imminent and began shopping for a good attorney, I asked some divorced friends to tell me about their attorneys but none were glowing recommendations. There were just ok. Every place I called and made appointments with I talked to paralegals NOT attorneys and all they did was... simply take notes to pass on to the attorney. Clearly, I was just a number. No real connection and the they kept it on a tight timeline. Understandable I guess…if I’m filing for a patent or need a contract reviewed. But divorce is different. Especially in my case where the well-being of my children became complex. My free 30-minute consult was booked with Summer and when we spoke it was VERY CLEAR that she cared about the situation and more importantly, being a mother herself, cared about my children’s situation. The 30-minute consult went on for nearly an hour and would have gone longer because she cared. I was the one who had to cut the call because I had to get ready for work and really expected the call to only go the 30 minutes. I highly recommend Summer to anyone shopping for a divorce attorney. In the middle of the case I even had to ask her to withdraw because I was essentially dooped by the other party into thinking we were gonna settle amongst ourselves. Summer asked me if I was sure about it only out of concern and not salesmanship even though she was clearly aware that there was money to be made. That was never EVER her motivation! I had to rehire her and was glad I did. Anyone shopping for an divorce attorney needs to hire Summer specifically. If you don’t hire Summer please hire an attorney who has children and actually cares about their children. Not some single d-bag or someone who simply sends a check to their ex and checks the parenthood box for the month.
