Before getting into Family Law Las Vegas and becoming a Las Vegas Divorce Attorney, Jim had a 20-year career in the United States Air Force. After graduating from the William S. Boyd School of Law, cum laude, Jim started a second career. While at Boyd, Jim was an Editor for the school’s Law Review and represented the school in appellate argument competitions as a member of the Society of Advocates. After graduating, Jim accepted a position with the Honorable Sandra L. Pomrenze to serve as her Law Clerk in the Family Court. In September of 2006, Jim joined a boutique law firm that specialized in Family Law Las Vegas. After nearly five (5) years of sharpening his litigation and negotiation skills, Jim opened his own Law Office and continues to concentrate in Family Law Las Vegas area. Since entering private practice, Jim has established a reputation of being a reasonable but zealous advocate for his clients. Jim has participated in a number of town hall meetings and open forums on equality issues with respect to custodial and adoption rights. He has also authored an article on the same subject, which was published in the Journal of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. When the Nevada Legislature passed Nevada’s Domestic Partnership Act, Jim quickly identified the need to inform the community of their Rights and Responsibilities regarding Domestic Partnerships. In conjunction with the Gay & Lesbian Center of Southern Nevada and the ACLU, Jim has conducted over 40 open-forums on Domestic Partnerships. Jim is a recognized expert in Domestic Partnership Law, having been asked and having spoken at events sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign, Wells-Fargo, We Are Family, UNLV Boyd School of Law, and Nevada State Bar’s Family Section. An accomplished speaker, Jim, has appeared on KNPR’s “State of Nevada” and continues to conduct interviews with local and national media outlets regarding Domestic Partnership Law, the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), and Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. - See more at: #
