Biography
Rachel L. Shelstad is a partner with Winner & Booze. Rachel is a native Nevadan, and her family has resided in Las Vegas since 1950. Rachel engages in the defense of civil litigation including claims for personal injury, property damage, premises liability, investigation of insurance fraud, bad faith litigation in State and Federal Court, and the prosecution of claims for subrogated interests. Rachel has participated in over forty (40) trials and enjoys bringing excellent and efficient results to her clients.
Prior to joining Winner & Booze, Rachel was a Trial Attorney III at the Government Employees Insurance Company for over five (5) years. Rachel gained great experience in the areas of trial practice, personal injury, and insurance law. Rachel previously joined Hurtik Law & Associates in 2013, and focused her practice on general civil litigation, commercial litigation, construction defect, trust and estate litigation, real estate litigation, transactional, probate and criminal law.
Rachel graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2006. Rachel was elected to the Pi Mu Epsilon, National Honorary Mathematics Society, Nevada Beta Chapter, in recognition of superior achievement in the field of mathematics. Rachel received a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from William S. Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada Las Vegas.
Rachel previously worked as a law clerk for another well-known Las Vegas law firm where she primarily practiced criminal law, complex civil litigation, administrative law and appeals in the Ninth Circuit.
Rachel is admitted to practice in all Nevada State Courts, Federal Court for the District of Nevada, and the Supreme Court of Nevada.
