Update: Went to court today for trial and got to see Mr. Garrett Ogata work his magic. They offered another silly plea deal to which Mr Ogata was able to get rid of the fine, the community service, the classes, and reduced the charges, to be dismissed after 90 days of no more getting in troub...le. Not proud to say I've been through this whole ordeal as I have a great appreciation of our justice system. After seeing the difference between public pretender #1 and Garrett Ogata, I see why so many believe our system is broken... They need a better lawyer! I couldn't have asked for a better or more helpful lawyer, advocate or friend. Hope I never need your services ever again! Lol ... Nobody likes to deal with legal issues, but from my first call to Mr. Ogata's office, I've experienced nothing but amazing service, advice and communication. The 12th day of August, 2016 is a day I’ll never forget… I was involved in an accident, after having left a birthday get- together for a friend in which alcohol was consumed. I was initially charged with a misdemeanor DUI and failure to maintain travel lane. About a week before I was supposed to... go to trial, the State bumped the charges to DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, a category B Felony, which carries a mandatory prison sentence if found guilty. After doing some research and learning that DUI defense is an area that he specializes in, I made an appointment to meet Mr. Ogata and discuss my case. He was friendly and easy to talk to. His professionalism and expertise put me at ease, and I realized it was in my best interest that I have him in my corner. Through it all, Garrett T. Ogata has been by my side. Through all the hearings, arraignments, status checks, and sentencing, he has been my staunch advocate. He was always there to answer all my questions and to guide me through this whole ordeal. In the end, Mr. Ogata was able to negotiate a favorable plea agreement with the State to avoid a trial and possible imprisonment. I was allowed me to plead guilty to felony reckless driving and receive probation instead. Also as part of the plea agreement, the State agreed to not oppose allowing me to withdraw my plea to felony reckless driving and instead plead guilty to misdemeanor reckless driving and receiving credit for time served, after an honorable discharge from probation. After the motion was filed and a court appearance on 2/3/2020, I walked out of Court with my attorney, Garrett T. Ogata, with the felony permanently removed from my record. Thank you Mr. Ogata for giving me a second chance -- a chance to make amends and improve myself, and a chance to become a better husband and father.

I was facing Jail time, the Judge and DA wanted 145 days. Garrett Ogata went to bat for me, he pushed above and beyond the normal call of duty. After negotiating for what seemed like an eternity, but was really closer to a half an hour, the DA was only willing to come down to 30 days, which Garret...t said I’d only need to do 20. A phenomenal deal, but I was working, and I was not wanting ANY JAIL time! Where most attorneys would have force fed me the deal, which was fairly decent, Garrett Ogata heard me out, didn’t assume I was ungrateful and Instead of letting me abscond, sat with me as we hammered it out in the conference room for another thirty minutes or so. We walked out of the courthouse that day with me still having to do thirty days, but only on the weekends! Thanks to Garrett Ogata and his dedication to his client and his generally good rapport, he took command of the courtroom and basically dictated what would be best for his client and everyone fell over each other to comply.

The police setup a sting in one of the Vegas casinos. I got caught up in it and faced a criminal charge.  I knew I had to fight it because I didn't do what they alleged. I hired Garrett Ogata to help me understand the nature of the charge filed against me and the consequences of a criminal convict...ion. It turns out that the police had setup their sting to allow the charge to rise to the level of a felony. Garrett immediately subpoenaed casino surveillance video but was surprised that both the casino and the police said that there wasn't any available during the sting period, which would have proven that my actions weren't what the police documented. Through conversations about my life and work history, he was able to use the information to persuade the prosecutor that the alleged offense was completely opposite of my typical behavior. His relation with the prosecutor allowed him to talk with the prosecutor off to the side about the incompetence of the police sting by them not having surveillance evidence.  He also let them know that I was willing to fight the charge and that he would help me to craft the best strategy for my defense. He helped me get out of the charge and is working to seal my arrest record. If you're facing a legal problem, you definately should hire Attorney Garrett Ogata as your lawyer.
