Malpractice Law firm
Randy Powers and Powers Family Law is the worst Family Law Firm. Randy has no idea what to do in Family Law it was like speaking with a child. In my case Randy showed up to court but talked to the judge like Randy was a child and took no notes in court and when he was to send court forms to the Defen...
We won a significant amount of property on your behalf and obtained an Order of Protection against your wife at the Court hearing. You have had an outstanding balance with the Firm for 3 months which you did not pay off, and yet have continued to ask us to work on your behalf. We emailed you that if you paid off your balance and replenished your retainer we would be able to move forward on your behalf. You were happy when we left Court, and even after Court you requested we continue to pursue the divorce against your wife. However, you are now suddenly disgruntled when we told you we would not continue to work without payment so we terminated the Representation.

Very Responsible and Good to Work With
Mr. Powers went out of his way to help me with my situation that was conflicted with a prodigal son. He worked very well with an excellent divorce team at our settlement conference, we did not have to go to court as a consequence of unresolved matters. I highly recommend Mr. Powers.

Very Professional Family Law Attorney
My ex wanted to take my children out of the country. To make a long story short - I wouldn't have my children anymore without Randy. I really appreciate all of his help

"I endorse this lawyer. Randy is known for his professional demeanor and expertise in handling divorce and custody cases."
"I have worked across the counsel table from Randy in family law matters including divorce and custody. Randy is professional and courteous while advocating for his clients."
"I worked together with Randy representing the Father of a toddler, in a hotly contested interstate custody matter, where the Mother absconded with the child from New Mexico to New York City and filed for divorce, custody and limited visits for the Father. Randy was a pleasure to work with and helped the Dad regain custody of his young daugther. Randy was persuasive in Court and in oral argument, in matters of strategy with both adversaries and on behalf of the client, in his written papers, and in negotiations. I was impressed with the sound guidance and patience he provided to our mutual client. The case was decided favorably for the client and made new law on interstate custody in the State of New York. Randy was a big part of this client's success."
"I endorse this Randy Powers. I have known Mr. Powers for 10 years now, and he has always given the attorney profession a good name. He is diligent and compassionate. He is extremely knowledgeable, and continually looking out for the best interest of his clients. When I or my clients need help on family law matters, I turn to Randy."
"I have worked with Randy as the opposing counsel. Randy is an assertive advocate for his clients, but he also knows how to find common ground and, if possible, settle cases without going to Court. He is very professional and knowledgeable regarding family law."

The Court found that neither New York, nor New Mexico met the home state requirement under the UCCJEA. The Court also found the minor child had significant connections with New Mexico under the UCCJEA while New York did not.
