All while I was growing up I was convinced that I wanted to be a surgeon. As I grew older and got involved in Mock Trial, my passion for the law began to grow. When I finally started college, I was sure that I wanted to do a double degree--MD and JD. Finally after two years into college, just one year away from graduation, I had a realization. I realized that being a surgeon was not pracitical for my life. My culture and idea of myself as a wife and eventually a mother just did not seem practical for a surgeon. Doing the work that I love and still being able to spend time and support my family is important to me. I feel blessed to have been able to come to this realization at such a young age. Now I am attorney and a wife, and I feel that I made the perfect decision for myself. I love what I do, and I am still able to support my family and make time for them in my life. Every case is a new adventure, and every client has an interesting story to tell.
A big part of my religion is about doing "seva," or service--some kind of service to help others. When I became pasionate about the law, I was excited about how I could use my work to follow in the principles of my religion. Doing seva is a big part of my life, and I am lucky that I am able to do work that I love that is a service to others.
Throughout my younger years I was inspired toward and developed a passion for immigration because of certain experiences. The first experience being that my family was able to help some young immigrant children in our community whose parents got deported by adopting them and filing for their papers. A few years ago they received their green cards, graduated from ASU with honors, and are now working hard to support their families back home. The second expeirence, being very near to my heart, was when I applied to sponsor my husband. Immigration has a very close place in my heart, and being from an ethnic background I feel that I can really relate to my client's situations on a deeper level.
I have always been open to working remotely, and I love to and am happy to travel when needed. Please do not let my location discourage you. Feel free to call me or email me if there is any way that you feel that I can serve you. I enjoy all areas of law, and I hope that this personal tidbit into my life while inspire you to give me an opporutnity to serve you!
