My primary goal in the practice of law is to help clients find solutions to address their business or personal requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner. I strive to provide prompt and responsive client communication, and work with clients in a flexible manner to help them achieve their goals.
I represent clients in connection with a wide range of matters in Flagstaff and other municipalities in Northern Arizona, including zoning, land use, governmental permitting, governmental and commercial contracts, among other issues.
My legal experience includes eight years of private practice in a law firm in Boston, Massachusetts in litigation and transactional work for corporate and private clients; two years as in-house counsel for an international computer company in Massachusetts and Switzerland; fifteen years of practice as a municipal attorney in Boston and in Flagstaff, Arizona; and nineteen years on the roster of the Coconino County Superior Court as a mediator for matters in litigation or in pre-litigation status. I was also the vice president of a closely held corporation for more than nine years, managing the financial and administrative affairs of the corporation, which has given me valuable insights into the issues which my business clients face.

Tevis Reich, Land use and zoning Attorney on May 10, 2017
Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
Dana is extremely capable in her filed and I highly recommend her.
Patricia Boomsma, Government Attorney on Dec 16, 2015
Relationship: Supervised lawyer
Dana Kjellgren is a smart, hard-working, and ethical attorney, and I am proud to endorse her. Dana worked for me at the City of Flagstaff's City Attorney's Office during the six years I was the City's Attorney. She was invaluable in providing her insight and skill to a variety of projects and areas of municipal law, including affordable housing, land use, zoning, contracts, open meeting law, elections, and pretty much any area of municipal law. Her ethical standards are very high, and she kept all of us focused on the big picture context of the individual legal issues we addressed. She was particularly helpful to me in the areas of a technology-based law practice and in providing historical context to issues in Flagstaff of which I was unaware. She was often the voice of reason in some highly charged situations.

I've worked with Dana on multiple real estate projects in the Flagstaff area. She is a pleasure to work with, and her local expertise on land use and zoning matters is a huge asset.

Relationship: Supervised lawyer
I endorse this lawyer. Dana Kjellgren is one of the finest lawyers with whom I've had the privilege of working. She is hard-working, conscientious, thorough, ethical, and delivers an excellent work product. I would not hesitate to use Dana in representing me in my own legal matters, which is the strongest endorsement any lawyer can make of another, but she also excels in handling complex matters for government clients.
