Avoid at all costs

He is completely unprofessional in his work and uncaring in his attitude. The very first papers he did for me (as a personal representative), he used boilerplate and did not change the deceased name, fill in the correct date of the death or the correct names of relatives. He said he filed papers wh...en he hadn't yet done so (as determined by the replies from other parties). He said he had mailed me papers when he hadn't (as easily told by the stamped date on the envelope). He would not communicate with the client (myself) and I had to get consults from other attorneys to figure out what steps needed to be taken next. When I would manage to catch him on the phone, he would breathlessly pronounce that he had a more important case to work on each and every time and would cut me off. He consistently did not file papers in a timely and accurate manner and to this day, I still don't know if he took the steps he promised. He is uncommunicative, overly sensitive and petulant when asked about fulfilling his obligations. It has been extremely time-consuming and mentally taxing to resolve any issues with Mr. Morse. Finally, he seems to have no idea where he puts what documents and never follows up on any requested inquiries. This was a simple case and the paper work should have been completed in 6 months (he originally told me) and now it is over 2 years and I still don't have the confirmation the case is closed. (He did not send the Final Registar papers as he promised 6 weeks ago).

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
