"I endorse this lawyer. I have know Richard for quite a number of years, and I often refer clients to him. He is very well respected, and I have always found him to be honest, dedicated to his clients, and principled. A lawyer is required to maintain the confidential communications of his clients, even at his own peril. That is exactly what Richard Morris did when the government was after one of his clients in 1987. The result was a personal attack against him by the government. His crime: Failure to report the crime of his client to government authorities, a violation of Title 18, Section 4, of the United States Code. He was sentenced to no fine, no time in jail, and released early from a two-year probation period. One week after sentencing, with the approval of the court, he was flying as the captain of an aircraft, ferrying it to South Africa. The judge apparently did not think he committed much of a crime."

“Lawyer refused to reveal client communications to IRS in 1982 and was prosecuted in 1987. The State Bars (California and Arizona) based their discipline upon the prosecution, no client was harmed. The Surpeme Court of England reviewed the situation and licensed him as a solicitor in 2004.”
