My partner and I live together on our farmstead near Asheville. Our home is our sanctuary and we are very openminded and honest people, in retrospect, a little too trusting. I rented the extra bedrooms in the house to supplement income, I was also secretly cultivating a personal medical cannabis grow... in my barn about 500 feet away on the property, behind locked doors; a completely private, nonviolent crime that is legal in 11 states and increasingly so. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to us, it appears that one of my tenants decided to go behind our backs and order a kilogram of MDMA from a "source country" have it delivered, with his name on it, to our front doorstep. The tenant was arrested on the spot, and fortunately the officers were able to determine based on their observations that the tennant was the sole suspect in this MDMA trafficking. But they also found my grow... the officers did not arrest me on the spot because I was courteous and complied with their investigation.
