Compassionate and Professional

I found Michelle by searching the AVVO site after my claim was not accepted at another larger employment law firm. Michelle took my case and I found her rates and award fees very reasonable. I felt comfortable and confident having her representation in my case especially since my claim was against ...a major Arizona utility corporation which took over two years to settle. While I did not get my job back, she fought to get me a satisfactory settlement. Review separation "Agreeement"/Negotiate a better package

My consultation with Ms. Matheson was very pleasant. She really listened as I told her what had occurred and was writing as fast as I talked. I was prepared with pertinent documents and she made copies of the ones that would be helpful. Her suggestions as to the items to be negotiated surprised me..., but were definitely the correct ones. She also stated that the employer could just say no or void the original agreement. It was my choice to retain her services to prepare a demand letter. At the end of the consultation meeting, I felt like she was a friend, not just an attorney. As it turned out, she was able to negotiate the entire agreement by phone, which greatly reduced the fee. And, she kept me informed during the negotiation process. I was amazed that the entire process was handled in such a short period of time, only 2 weeks. I would definitely recommend Ms. Matheson, she is ethical and will give you straight forward advice.

Workplace discrimination

I hired Michelle in November 2015 for a wrongful termination which included discrimination. From a 50 minute phone briefing, Michelle was able to put together a letter for me that included every name, date and detail I shared with her. in my review of the letter I found only one name misspelled. E...very detail was accurate and was just as I had stated during the briefing. When it came to decision making, Michelle left them pretty much up to me, though, she advised me well on options and what next steps in her opinion might be best. Michelle was able to keep my case out of court and mediation, and we verbally settled in mid-Feb. The rest was just paperwork with my final compensation arriving April 15th. Michelle handled my case with the highest degree of professionalism and I would not hesitate to recommend her services to anyone.

VERY PLEASED WITH MICHELLE MATHESON'S REPRESENTATION

I had a consultation with Michelle Matheson to see if I had a Wrongful Termination Suit. She explained why my situation did not qualify for that type of a case. HOWEVER, I did have an Overtime case. I happened to mention to Michelle that I worked long hours in my job. She asked questions. I was surpr...ised to learn that even though I was a salaried employee, i was entitled to be paid for all the many hours of overtime I'd put in at the job. Michelle & her team put my case together, she filed the suit and handled everything. We never had to go to trial, the case was settled. I'm very pleased. I highly recommend Michelle Matheson.

An Extremely Competent and Professional Attorney

I was very disheartened when Michelle told me that I didn't have a case for my wrongful termination because of Arizona law, notwithstanding the facts in the matter. But because she took the time to carefully review the facts, she discovered that my ex-employer had not been properly paying overtime fo...r all the years I was there. The law only allowed us to recover two years of overtime plus an equal amount in damages, but Michelle filed the claim and professionally negotiated a full settlement before we ended up in arbitration. Everything about her was professional and comforting from the moment she walked into the conference room.
