Divorce is a frightening event, that goes without saying. I could go on for days writing about what I have learned through this process, good and bad. The logistics with court are more than just understanding the structure. You have to have someone on your side that understands the important aspects ...of the process that are not written in the rule book. Demeanor, how best to respond, holding back emotions...etc. Mrs. Crook's most valuable asset outside of her care for your wellbeing is her honesty. She will tell you what you don't want to hear because you need to hear it. She will not allow you to go to court unprepared or emotional. She advises the good and bad, again, whether you want to hear it or not. She relies on truth and facts. I witnessed first hand other attorneys tell their client only what they wanted to hear and it didn't work out well as they were unprepared. Watching Mrs. Crook handle court during trial is nothing short of fantastic. Precise and factual with respect to all parties. You could see the appreciation from the judge and I believe that goes a long way having an attorney with a great reputation on your side as she has. I cannot thank Carolyn enough for her work and recommend her to everyone needing family representation.

Carolyn is an outstanding attorney. She handled a very difficult divorce and then motion to sever spousal support. She was both professional and compassionate. She anticipated my every need. One of the most remarkable things she did was that she arranged telephone conferences with the court so I ...did not have to physically show up to court. I did not want to face my ex nor his attorney. She is very honest, and went out of her way to save me money. She obtained a sizable spousal support award for me, too. She constantly kept me informed about everything going on with my case and answered all my questions. I hired Carolyn as my attorney as I was going through a divorce after 27 years of marriage. After receiving a recommendation from three co-workers who knew of her work from inside the court room as well as two other people with whom she had represented - she was one of the best decision I made at s...uch a difficult time in my life. Carolyn was very personable, thorough and timely in obtaining pertinent information for all of the filing and prompt and precise in preparing and filing any and all responses. Carolyn also made sure that I fully understood each step of the divorce process. When we would meet Carolyn worked hard and fast, not wasting my time (i.e., billable hours) on unnecessary discussion or documents but making sure I was ready for all hearings. As you can imagine after 27 years, there were several assets to separate and even through Shenanigan's with the opposing sides Counsel and then reappointment of new opposing Counsel, Carolyn kept things in perspective for me and kept the case moving forward at all times. In court, Carolyn's expertise was unmatched. Frankly, she became quite a "tiger" on the courtroom floor. During one hearing wherein opposing counsel and husband had Motioned for Spousal Maintenance, through formulated questioning, Carolyn's spot on rebuttals to arguments and brilliant questioning had even the Judge shaking his head about the unsubstantiated filing. In the end, with Carolyn's guidance all matter's were resolved, with all parties coming to the table and in agreement just weeks before trial.

Carolyn was great. Very informed about what is appropriate and not appropriate for my case. She worked my case against my ex-wife's much bigger firm and she handled them without a problem. Very confident and that in turn made me more confident about our case. She was correct about every move the othe...r side was going to make and she absolutely knew what when they were trying to get away with something. Very pleased with the outcome of my case. I have recommended her to my friends who are, unfortunately, in the same situation.
