I felt like I was dealing with a used car salesman

Attorney made various representations of what he could "probably" get done in my DUI case. He accomplished none of it. He agreed to 90 terms on his fee. The first time I heard from him was on the 30th day looking for payment. When I requested some/any form of an update-e. i.e. what had he done w...ith my first $2500 he REFUSED- said that didn't matter. I fired him. Credit where credit is due, he did refund me some of my initial retainer.

The client review above is inaccurate and untrue. This client initially contacted our office by phone as he resided out of state and wished to cancel an outstanding warrant on a felony criminal case because he previously failed to appear for a court date. The client had previous multiple dui cases and had been in rehab which is why the original court date was missed. He received a no-charge consultation by phone. In that conversation, his options were explained, he received information about the court process, and all his questions were answered. At no time were any promises or guarantees made. He liked the fact that our office had an AV highest rating possible by Martindale Hubbell and that we had an Arizona Certified Criminal Law Specialist on our legal team. He also liked that our attorneys have significant experience in serious criminal cases and DUI cases and was impressed by our case results. He decided to hire our firm. His case was not assigned to Scott Maasen as he wrongly states. It was assigned to another experienced former prosecutor in our office. On several occasions, our office contacted the court, filed paperwork on his behalf, and researched his case. The assigned attorney and paralegal spoke to him and his fiancé by email and phone on several occasions. It was only after the attorney explained that the judge required him to appear in person in Arizona to cancel the warrant and proceed with his case that he became unhappy. The attorney discussed with him at length because his case was a felony, a more serious matter, that he would need to appear in person. That was the court rule and could not be changed by our firm or any other lawyer. At that time, he became angry and unreasonable and he refused to come to Arizona and make any additional payments for legal services as he previously agreed. We then regrettably told him that if that was his position we could not help him and we withdrew as counsel from his case and promptly issued him a refund. Each and every member of our legal team strives to provide the best service to all clients and members of their family. Unfortunately, sometimes expectations for some people are unrealistic in spite of explaining all options and the court process.
