John Vingelli

I have spent over 24 yrs of my life in prison, over 3 terms. I was on probation at the time I was charged with 3 new felony charges, weapons and 2 drug charges. I was facing, (as I was informed by a judge at a settlement conference) 10 to 14 yrs in prison minimum. And that would be if I was lucky. ... At my age that would have basically been a life sentence. I was at a loss, I was making plans to get my affairs in order, and mentally preparing for prison. The state appointed John Vengelli as my contract counsel. I explained my plight to him. Thinking he would be like the public defenders I'd had in the past, he wouldn't care what the truth was, I thought he would pass judgement like everyone else had, assume me guilty and plea me to a lengthy prison term. Not wanting to waste his time trying to defend the likes of me, who's life didn't matter to anyone in this system. Never did I imagine this man would work miracles in my life. It took 1 yr and 9 months, but John Vengelli took all the time necessary to keep me free, to give me my life back. He believed in me, probably more than I believed in myself. He viewed me as a human, not a statistic. He got to the facts of my case, he brought the truth forward and used it to fight for my freedom. In the end I still signed a plea bargain, but I walked away a free man with 4 yrs probation, no time in jail or prison. Time served on my existing probation, and free to resume my life. Nothing short of a miracle. Anyone who has ever spent time in the system knows how unbelievably impossible this outcome is. John is, quite literally, a miracle worker. If you can't believe in your client, then you can't believe in what you do. I have never met an atty with the ethics and the tenacity I have seen in John Vengelli. I have the utmost respect for him. John presented the facts in my case to the prosecution. He remained stedfast and was able to negotiate the terms we wanted. All but one charge was dropped. And I left the courtroom without spending 1 day in jail. If you want an atty who can get the job done, I highly recommend you call John Vengelli. He is the man who can make it happen for you. I received a blessing in my life the day he took on my case. All to often people only take the time to write a review for something they are not happy with. To let people know of a bad experience they had for one reason or another. Readers don't get to hear the other side of that story. I've never written a review for anything before, but this experience made me feel the need to share it. If there is anyone who has a bad thing to say about John Vengelli, I would have to strongly disagree, because this is a man that goes above and beyond what ANY other atty has EVER been willing to do for me. John is an atty who believes in what he does. He will get Justice for you.

John Vingelli represented my daughter in a criminal case and worked tirelessly until the best possible outcome was available for my daughter. Excellent with the law and working with the prosecution made us feel at ease in the lost trying time of our lives. Mr. Vingelli is in contact and has contact w...ith all jurisdictions in Arizona as his practice is in Scottsdale and our case was in Tucson. At no time did we feel "out of the loop," as Mr. Vingelli kept us informed and worked within the legality and our wishes as parents of the defendant. I am a busy mom of 5. I rarely have the time to review anything. However, John is worth that small window of time I have and deserves to be recognized. I have had experience before with many other wonderful attorneys. However, the one thing I will tell you is that most are pretty much impossible ...to reach on a spur of the moment type thing. It usually takes between 1 hour and 1 day to get a response. I can tell you that i have called Johns office 6 times between July 2019- Feb 2020. The first time I called he was out of town, however, his assistant Kathy offered to patch me thru to him if I needed to talk with him. She had taken care of my question and already had filed the motion I was calling about. I called at 8:30am. She had just received my inquiry that morning. She already had filed my motion and had an answer from judge before noon. The other 5 times I was patched thru to John directly. I held a very short time each call. He never had to return my call they always found him. Now I did call in the afternoon since I know he’s in court in the mornings, but for a lawyer of his caliber this is unheard of. John asks you what you want and fights for you. I gave John 3 things I wanted I got all 3, he would not give in until they agreed to them. He’s worked for the prosecutors office and knows their policies. It really helps to have someone that knows the job and knows both sides. His presence gives you a sense of ease that words can’t describe. If you walk in feeling afraid at all I guarantee you walk out feeling confident and it doesn’t keep you up between court dates. He answers his emails fast. He literally walked me out of the courtroom to wherever I needed to be when we left and would stop on his way to his next meeting to make sure I knew where to go. He knows the law, he’s very good at his job. I spent a few thousand dollars at my attorney before him. I was told I was going to go to jail for 7 years, I had anxiety like you can’t believe. I was sentenced to probation. One of my charges were completely dropped. My fines are only $20 a month. I have $0 community service. I met with my supervised probation officer and I am going to check in by mail after today since I am deemed low risk. He fought for me. He would not give up, because he knew the law and what was fair. Not everyone can get probation obviously. However, John will be honest with you up front. He will tell you the range. If you do have more serious charges he will get you the best possible deal he can. I appreciate him so much words can’t even say. I had a tire blow on one of my court dates that was just requesting a new date. He waived my appearance for me. I texted him from the side of the road. He had it all fixed and filed within 30 minutes and gave me my new date. Thank you John. 5 stars isn’t enough.

Mr. Vingelli completely and systematically destroyed trumped-up charges in this second related case he handled for me in a completely candid fashion, which also aided the... career path of the Maricopa County attorney newly-assigned (to whom the allegations had been completely misrepresented). This non-confrontational and rational approach is the precise way the legal system should work, and a perfect example of why Mr. Vingelli should be your first choice.

I was referred to Mr. Vingelli by a friend (who is also a topnotch attorney) as an expert in criminal matters, and he certainly didn't disappoint. Facing 7 felony counts is harrowing, but Mr. Vingelli navigated the system like an old pro (even though I might not have been the easiest client to repr...esent). He carefully evaluated all aspects of the case, separated fact from fiction, and also vetted me as a potential witness etc. He also interfaced masterfully with the Prosecutor's office (something I don't think I would personally be capable of doing). At the end of the day, 5 of the counts were completely dismissed, and the remaining two magically transformed into low-level misdemeanors. While I still maintain my complete and total innocence on all the charges, Mr. Vingelli was correctly able to prevail upon me the plea agreement was the most expedient route to a speedy resolution. I highly recommend his services to any and all who might find themselves in a similar situation. Bottom line: he's just very, very good at what he does......
