From the very start he listened to me, guided me, talked me off the ledge and continued to keep me focused and moving forward. This was my first time in the legal system which I very much distrust. I valued the time he would take to educate me on the legal definitions (they count). And when it came time to plead (it was my best choice), he steadfastly stood by me and provided the tools I needed to get to the finish line. He clearly defined the possible outcomes of each option. What did I need? What were the implications and how best could I take back control? Communication with Mr. Marner was a breeze. If it were necessary to leave a message, he would promptly return my call. He was a Godsend. direct, honest and human. He allowed me to process the options without pressure,I never felt judged. I was very emotional and immediately would catastrophize any new information. Until I could hear it, he would calmly give me more information and clarity. I found myself in a legal bind after an unwise decision 4 years from my past caught up with me. I was extremely anxious and scared that this would ruin all my hopes of a good career. I spent the next week or so researching and calling lawyers non-stop. I felt pretty quickly with almost all of them th...at they would not be good representation (for various reasons). I did have a more minor case, but it was important to me and I wanted to be represented by somebody who took even my small case as seriously as I did. Most lawyers I called wanted to pass it along to an associate of theirs, give my case to a brand new graduate, or they just simply seemed uninterested and ambiguous. At this point, I was only gathering information to narrow my field of who I’d choose, but even at this stage some tried very eagerly to secure a credit card deposit before the end of our call - before they really even knew anything about me or my case! Matthew A. Marner was COMPLETELY different. I could tell almost immediately this was my lawyer. I understand time is money, especially for trained professionals, yet Matt did not set a strict timer on my consultation call. He took the time to hear out my situation, inquired about me - asked probing details to create a better picture of who I was and about my case. He did not give general and ambiguous answers. Instead, even with limited information, he gave me possible scenarios, ways the case could go, and references to other cases he’s handled before. He did not sell himself hard, nor try to snatch my money at the earliest opportunity. He was very clear and direct. He shoots between the eyes, which I loved as I am the same kind of person. He was clear on the pricing for his services, and explained all costs and possible future costs clearly. He did not try to snake any undisclosed fees out of me. In fact, he even told me how he had saved another client quite a bit of money just a few days prior... not to mention he always informed me of my options, considered my financial circumstances, and was always thoughtful about saving me money (and never pressured me to take a route that would bag him more money). He always kept in contact with me concerning any updates or developments relevant to my case. He was always timely in responding to my communication (lest we forget lawyers are people with lives and families too). He was very thorough in our initial weeks finding out everything there was to know about me and my case. He was very diligent in his work; exploring various defense options, strategies, arguments and researching similar cases with established precedents. He was extremely confident in his abilities when mounting my defense and talking to me. Initially, I thought maybe this guy is blowing smoke, but I can tell you his confidence is well placed. In the end, I went from thinking I had no shot at a real career anymore to a much more favorable scenario... THEN my case ended up being completely dismissed by the prosecutor after the argument and defense Matt put up!!! Initially, I thought I would have to end up spending the costs of a full-blown court case. Matt not only proposed a much more economical route to resolving my case (which would still have ended in dismissal), but his defense even saved me from spending the money of the more economical option! The way I saw it, that prosecutor decided to dismiss my case when he found out what he was going up against in the defense mounted by Matthew A. Marner. I’m very grateful that I took the time to find Matt instead of all the highly marketed lawyers who I would have been just another case, just another number, and just another deposit in the bank to. Matt is genuine and personable representation. He runs his own business and is a family man. He saved my dreams of a career. I told Matt I hope I never need his services again, but if I ever should - I know without a doubt I’ll be calling him.

I called Matt based on the positive reviews I read. He did not disappoint and I'm so glad with my decision. The DUI/court process is scary and stressful. Without a good attorney it will be even scarier and more confusing. Matt is very experienced, knowledgeable, and competent. He did so much to help ...me with a lot of information and guidance I don't think I would've got without his help. Besides his competence, he is approachable, ALWAYS returns calls/emails in a timely fashion and answers all questions clearly. I especially appreciate how he presents options and subsequent decisions and scenarios related to each option. Finance is a huge concern for most people, and probably a subject that can cause people to be distrustful and kind of "expect" to be ripped off in the process. Matt is ethical and super mindful of that. He understands most people do struggle with the extra costs involved when dealing with legal matters. Whenever I had to make a decision, he was always honest about the pros and cons financially and even advised me of options when he would not earn any wages. Again, finances play an enormous role, and Matt works hard and EARNS his living. He did not charge me for anything he didn't work for and refunded me the rest of the money immediately after we were done with all the court appearances. Part of my journey involved financial restitution to the people involved. I was extremely impressed by Matt's knowledge of the law and his argument for my case. The judge's decision against me had absolutely nothing to do with Matt's defense argument, which was spot on from a legal/common sense standpoint and he did win every way one looks at it. Honestly, I would've ruled against myself mainly because I did something wrong and sometimes, even though I had excellent representation, you must pay a price for your bad decisions. Legally, I won my case, but ultimately it comes down to a judge's prerogative. The point I'm trying to make is Matt is highly capable of representing anyone and knows what he's doing. I highly recommend him for his professionalism, ethics, and competence.

I chose to appoint Matthew as my attorney for my DUI case because of his great reviews. I had a DUI in the state of Arizona from 6 years ago pop up into my life recently. Living in another state, it was stressful knowing that I had charges against me in another state, especially being at a different ...place in my life having a family and business. I reached out to Matthew and he was very educated about the whole process, he calmed my nerves and reassured me that he could successfully handle this case. He was very straight-forward with me, and never sugar coated anything. Flying to Arizona multiple times for court, Matthew was always there to meet me, he handled all the paperwork and communication with Arizona and my state, he was very assertive with the judge and district attorney, and worked very hard to have my charges reduced with a lesser sentencing. I couldnt have had a better lawyer!
