Client was arrested in an undercover drug operation as driver of vehicle containing 40 pounds of marijuana. He was charged with a class 2 felony: possession of marijuana for sale. Risk of prison up t ... o 8.75 years. I investigated the confidential informant, the police account to the grand jury, the evidence obtained by police, and legal arguments for delays in prosecution. After aggressive negotiations with the prosecution, I obtained a plea for the client of a class one misdemeanor with no jail time and no fines.

Client accused of fleeing police officer at over 130 mph through school zone. Investigation and pretrial litigation uncovered history of discipline and dishonesty of arresting police officer. Impeach ... ed police officer at trial, demonstrated implausibility of police account off events through investigator witness and multimedia demonstration. Result was acquittal on the felony count, acquittals on 3 of 4 misdemeanors. Client sentenced to short term of unsupervised probation and nominal fine.

Client was arrested for felony aggravated DUI. Upon arrest, client invoked his right to remain silent and right to counsel. Police continued interrogation and client relented to evidence collection. ... I challenged the blood evidence based on violations of client's 5th Amendment right to remain silent and right to counsel as a factor in the analysis of the police violation of his 4th Amendment right to be free from unlawful searches and seizures. After multi-witness suppression hearing, the evidence was suppressed and the prosecution dismissed the case.
