Barrett Neal Lindsey

Barrett is experienced in general civil litigation throughout Arizona, defending professionals, companies, and individuals in a wide variety of disputes involving personal injury and workplace injury, construction defect matters and general construction litigation, contract disputes, professional malpractice, financial litigation, products liability, and torts litigation. Barrett has defended clients in arbitration, with pre-litigation disputes, before the trial court, and with appeals.

Barrett has extensive legal research and legal writing experience. Barrett began his legal career as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Richard E. Dorr in the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, where he gained experience researching and analyzing diverse civil and criminal law issues, including in the areas of civil rights, employment law, class action litigation, CERCLA litigation, habeas corpus and post-conviction relief, and constitutional law. Barrett continues to employ the same attention to legal and factual issues in private practice, and is experienced drafting and responding to motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, trial and appellate briefs. He is also experienced in deposing lay witnesses and expert witnesses, and in pretrial mediations, pretrial settlement conferences, and general settlement negotiations.

Barrett's appellate work experience includes drafting both appellant and appellee briefs. In a recent appeal, he helped draft a brief which led to the successful defense of a judgment award before the Arizona Court of Appeals, upholding broad indemnity coverage afforded by the contract. Barrett is also a volunteer attorney for the Pro Bono Representation Program with the Arizona Court of Appeals, where he represents appointed clients with their appeals.
