Her Lousy Defense Ruined my Life!

I don’t recommend Sonja Duckstein as a defender for any DUI case. Not only did she push to plea right away, she tried to charge me an additional $3,000 for a revocation packet that only cost me $105 to do myself. Her lousy defense has ruined my life and kept me from employment for two years. I’m home...less! She didn’t even interview the officer who lied about almost every single charge and detail regarding the stop. If I knew the damage that she allowed the prosecutor and a dishonest officer of the law was going do to my reputation, I would have never given her a second chance. She also promised to get the charges set aside; more bs. She did almost nothing to win my case. She’s doesn’t fight for anything but increasing her fees and minimizing her workload. Sonja is more of a prosecutor than a defender and it shows. Sonja is a dishonest defender and doesn’t give a hoot about her clients.

I am sorry that you feel this way. I absolutely interviewed the officers in your case. I also filed a Motion to Dismiss your case in your defense as you believed the stop was illegal. I prepared you and your wife to testify at the hearing, as well as having you gather evidence from the scene including photos and videos. I spent time preparing to cross examine the officers at your hearing. After the Judge ruled against you in the Dismissal hearing, I presented you with options of either taking a plea or setting the case to trial. You chose to take a plea. The Judge asked you if your plea was voluntary, to which you responded "yes". The Judge also asked if you were satisfied with the services of your attorney, to which you responded "yes". I also recommended that we request your blood to be retested as it was a very high alcohol level, which we did retest and it also came back at a high alcohol level. I also offered to set aside your conviction at no extra charge. You were to contact me when your sentence was completed and provide me with documentation as to how the DUI was effecting your life- You have not done either. I prevented you from serving your full 30 day jail sentence as well. I was very diligent in representing you. I hold myself to the highest of standards in handling cases. My representation of you terminated over a year ago so I was very surprised to see this review.

Accident Injury

When I injured my back from an auto collision, Sonja Duckstein went to work immediately to ensure that I received good medical attention and initiated contact with the insurance company. She was able to negotiate a settlement that was much more than what the insurance company initially offered. She... was a pleasure to work with and always showed that she represented by best interests.

DUI related questions

I called Sonja on Sunday (today) and I want to say how much I appreciate her for calling me back right away and answering some DUI related questions for me. She was very kind and considerate and very professional. Thanks Sonja!

Sonja is a winner!

I hired Sonja for a very serious matter in which I was facing life in prison. Ms. Duckstein was very on top of her work and always made sure to keep me informed. Sonja was always available if I ever needed clarification on anything concerning my case. She is a hard, aggressive and passionate worker. ...Sonja truly cares about her clients and the outcome of the case, and is not just out to get your money like past lawyers I have worked with. Sonja was able to save me from a prison sentence with a probation plea. You will not be disappointed! Thanks again Sonja.

When things are desperate .. you need Ms Duckstein

I am 50 years old and I had never had a criminal legal issue in my life. After speaking to multiple lawyers I found online and none of them quite understanding my situation I felt defeated. A friend recommended I contact Ms Duckstein. I can not say enough positive things about her and her experience.... She dropped everything she was working on to help me. She had a an amazing ability to get to the facts and defended me in court. Her litigation abilities are excellent. My ordeal ended with a perfect scenario. I highly recommend her for any legal needs requiring a true professional. Her knowledge and experience are evident upon first contact.
