she is a terrible divorce lawyer who financially ruined me instead of helping and representing me.im not surprised her licensed was revoked,it, should of been permanetly. she even talked me out of receiving alimony that I was intitled to. I will be sorry for hiring her for the rest of my life. don...'t make the same mistake

No wonder her license was revocated. This is an attorney that lie to Judges and even on a simple thing with evidence, she will deny the fact and provide wrong advise to his client. I have hired Quinn for a divorce case and comes out she have no competences on family divorce case. she dress unprof...essional, she provided me with the worst advise in the world and now I am on Child Support, worst I owes the court a lot of amount. she does not have a methodology and want to use her feeling to frustrate the judge. she provided me the worst representation ever and I would never recommend this low class lawyer not even to my worst enemy. she play a politic of low price and provide hope but personally know that she would not be able to provide the service. she always try to postpone cases to gain time.

I stumbled across avvo while researching family lawyers. We hired Kathy O'Quinn several years ago to help us file bankruptcy. After I lost my job our financial stability crumbled. Right from the start she was horrible. The bankruptcy journey with her was frustrating and full or craziness. Not becau...se of the bankruptcy but because of HER! For our first meeting at her office she never showed up. We got a hold of her after about 40 mins of waiting. She said she had a client emergency and was running late. She asked us to wait, which we did. After 45 mins I called her again. She said that she couldn't meet us at all and wanted to reschedule. That was my clue and I should have run for the door, but I chose to give her the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes there really are emergencies and that's how I chose to view it. I had no way to know there was no emergency, it's just how she behaves. My initial impression of Kathy- when I finally met her - was that she was a warm, empathetic person who could help us. I actually liked her. She was never nasty or aggressive. She was just absent and incompetent. She didn't file paperwork on time and then would lie about it , repeatedly. I'd catch her in lies and she'd still lie!! Sometimes she did what she was supposed to and it was such a relief. It was sad, but I used to call the court to make sure my case was in order. She showed up on time only ONCE. That was on the day we stood in front of the trustee in court. Any other time she needed be somewhere - she didn't show. The kicker is that she didn't just blow us off, she'd never call to apologize or even to reschedule. It was like she just disappeared. We would leave her message after message and days would go by without even a peep from her. The first time I thought something happened. Who does that? What attorney doesn't show up and then doesn't call or return your calls for a week? Why didn't we fire her? In our case, we had absolutely no money. Kathy required that we pay her UP FRONT for her services, so firing her would have meant we had to pay another attorney. We gave her the very last cash we had and honestly couldn't afford to fire her. We just lost our home, I was pregnant and all I wanted to do was to get it over with. Maybe she was a drug addict or possibly suffers from a horrible depression??? That's all that makes sense to me. In the end, we never figured it out. However, what I did figure out is that if you get aggressive with her and demand answers then she "hides" from you. For our last big meeting, she never showed up to her office and never called. Two days later I finally reached her. I wanted to explode but I simply asked to re-schedule. She agreed and guess what? She never showed up for THAT meeting. Finally I wrote her a 2 page letter telling her I was very frustrated. I wanted her to continue the process but that I needed her to be there, to show up and communicate. At that time were were so very close to the finish line. I didn't want to start over and it was easier for us to forgive than to yell at her and find a new attorney. I have no doubt she would have disappeared. Ultimately, she showed up to court, eventually filed all the correct paperwork and settled our bankruptcy. So, she did do what she promised - got our bankruptcy settled. But it was a nightmare working with her. I truly feel that I basically begged and pleaded with her to get the job done. I'm not even sure how she stays in business. Maybe she's changed since our bk discharge? I don't hate her but I HONESTLY think she shouldn't be practicing law. She could do some real harm to someone depending on her protection. I'm glad we got through it unscathed.
