I hired Stephanie after being denied by social security twice. Stephanie took on my case and I met Joe, one of her associates a few minutes before court. I really liked Joe, and I won my case.

I chose Stephanie Lake because she had done a case for a family member. She was professional and caring. I spoke to her once or twice on the phone and met with her the day of my hearing. I never had any problems with the office or staff. It bothers me to read all the negative comments. She is an attorney. A very busy one. if she called and talked to every client, she would never have time for herself. Give her a break. She did what she could for me and won my case. Even after the hearing, she gave me words of encouragement that i still remember to this day.

I hired stephanie lake after being denied for disabilty. I appealed the case on my own than faxed all my medical records to her. I visited her office one day to drop off medical records she didn't even acknowledge me when she walked by. That didn't sit well with me considering I could either be a client or potential client she should have at least said hello. I called her a few weeks after that I never got to speak with her personally. She never returned my calls well I won my case they told me i had provided plenty of evidence (on my own) of course she took her 25%. I wish she could have at least called to congratulate me or tell me something but instead she just took her money and walked on she is so impersonal so unprofessional and ive already told many people DO NOT HIRE STEPHANIE LAKE!!!! Zero COMPASSION!! :( so disappointed you are basically paying for her signature on your paperwork that's it!

I hired Stephanie Lake last year to handle my social security. That was a mistake. To start I have only had contact with a law clerk, that was for initial intake, and since only the receptionist 2 or 3 times. That was return calls to about 3 to 5 days after I called them. The only thing they have done is send me copies of papers the social security office sends. So I'm thinking why should I pay that office the percentage they want for doing nothing. Make matters worse, Just found out I was denied of reconsideration. This after being unable to work for over a year because of my disabilities.

Stephanie Lake is very unethical, whether your case is a winner, in appeals or have lost, you should be treated with respect. She has hung up in my face while I was asking about the appeals process. This attorney needs to learn to leave the conversation on a positive note and allow her clients to keep their dignity she has no empathy for no one and is very unprofessional, I definitely wouldn't recommend her services to no one.

Called for preliminary purposes regarding practicality of an SSD denial appeal. Screener set up a phone interview appointment for the following day. Fifteen minutes past the scheduled time of 3:00, called to inquire. "Oh, she's running late with another client. She'll call you when she's done." Phone remained silent for the rest of the day. Next day, called to inquire again. "Oh, she was busy, blah blah blah. I'll take the message and she'll call you back." Care to guess the rest?
The big mystery is: how do operations like this stay in business?

I had retained Ms. Lake for Social Security case and the only request I had was a hearing ASAP. When I finally got a hearing I later learned that she had requested w/o my knowledge prior to my hearing for an extension to a future date and blamed this on the Judge. I terminated her "thankfully" and won my case with no further legal help. When I obtained the records from her things were so messed up that a full revision was done. BEWARE.. She is rude and mean and was warned after "my" case to be careful and not lose or interchange client records.

Really had a bad feeling about this lawyer when she refused to meet me in her office. After six months of running around and doing her job for her, I figured I could do it on my own. I've heard others had similar concerns with her. Be sure to look around for better attorneys.

Ms. Lake has been my attorney for 20 years. I have referred her to at least 10 of my friends, all of whom had successful outcomes. She is completely professional, returns calls immediately and is passionate about her clients' benefits. She is simply outstanding.
