I had a very complicated and difficult Workman's Compensation/Disability case. I contacted several attorneys who were recommended to me but to no avail ... I never could get past a Legal Assistant, and if I did get to briefly chat with the lawyer on the phone, they would decline my case and tell me t...here was nothing they felt they could do. Feeling very discouraged, I gave up and a few years passed. It just seemed hopeless. But then I decided for one last time I would try to find a lawyer and that's when I saw Mr. Weiss's website. My wife said to me, (and I kid you not) "you know what I think? This man has an honest face ... I'm going to call his office tomorrow". And that she did. She explained my case to Legal Assistant Ana Zeiser and the very confusing details to which she replied "there's something to your case .... I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I'm going to speak with Steve". Stunned that someone actually wanted to help me, I was even more stunned that a call came back and Mr. Weiss wanted to set up a consultation with both my wife and me at his office - not over the phone. Intrigued and up to the challenge, he got to every detail of my case...every document, every court filing, every medical record ... everything. He read endless pages of documents and files and found a solution to my unique case which was very similar to another case that was on record from 1972!! He took the time to research through cases that go back 40 years!! I was always kept up to date on my case's progression - when he and I needed to meet, when and if I needed an IME, when he and I had a court date, when he would be speaking with the Insurance adjuster. Mr. Weiss was just a phone call away and if I left a voicemail or sent an e-mail, Ana replies back to you within a business day. I can't tell you exactly how many hours he put in, but I can tell you he has been our lawyer for the past 4 years... keeping my case open until a fair settlement could be agreed to. He is a wealth of knowledge, patient, highly experienced, explains everything very clearly that I understood every aspect of my case and how we would move forward - the pros and the cons. And then there's Ana ~ who I will be forever grateful for listening and having the expertise to know that my case was viable. Again, if ever you have a Workman's Compensation / Disability claim - be it as simple or as complex as mine, do not hesitate to call Mr. Weiss as he hands down is the lawyer you want on your side ... you will not regret your decision. I found this guy on avvo.com. He was highly rated ( this makes me now question this site's rating integrity). First, his personality is very dry and monotone. My wife wasn't feeling him from the beginning and I should of listened to her. The best thing that I can say is his assistant Ana is outstandi...ng! I contacted him in mid January when he took my case. He did not file the motion needed to get my case before the industrial commission until March 8. He may go on the defense and say that he was waiting for me to get him the necessary documentation for him to be assured to file my claim but, he allowed me to do all of the work and wouldn't pay for my medical records. I worked tirelessly to get him the documents he needed. He didn't even add a key supplemental document (that I found, of course) that benefitted me well before ICA (Industrial Commision of Arizona - the venue for workman's comp cases) judge ruled (FYI - the judge asked for additional documentation before his ruling). He did have to put pressure on my PCP to release my medical records, in the form of a strongly worded letter, but I did 85% of the investigative work and gathering. Irregardless , I lost because he filed late and could've said something, if there was an pending deadline. He obviously didn't know and as a law practitioner this is his area. He promised me that if we lost this round, that there were other things that we could and would pursue other future actions. He didn't. He didn't even call me to tell me that he was done being my lawyer. I get a letter more than a week after the ICA judge denied my reinstatement. He just dropped me like that. He was very reluctant and downright evasive when I repeatedly asked him his about his contingency fee. Another issue, he appeared at my hearing telephonically from Chicago and hadn't been him in his office in Arizona in months. My hearing was set 3 months in advance. He was doing everything remotely. He sent a proxy (retired) attorney to my deposition. This guy was good btw. So in summary, if this is what you're looking for. Then, choose this guy. I have a new attorney now. When (or even if) he reads this I encourage him to respond and I will in kind reply. He'll probably get Ana to do it for him.
