Did as they said

this firm really helped my family when we were in a time in need. They represented us through our bankruptsy and even helped us after the filing was done to make sure that our credit was cleaned up so we could truly get a clean slate. Scott and his staff were great via email whenever they were too ...busy to take my call, they always got back to me. Thanks!

Please call bankrupsy court before you retain

My husband and I retained Scott Forrester to handle our bankruptcy. We have business and personal debt so after speaking with Scott via phone he recommended we file a chapter 13 for both. Our 1st red flag should have been when we received an email on when our bankruptcy hearing would be and realized... the date was conflicting with another hearing that we had in California. We reached out to his office via phone and via email more than multiple times to see if we could get it rescheduled. We heard nothing until the day of the hearing. He said he was sending another attorney out to do a continuance because the trustee never got back to him on rescheduling our appointment. He said this cost was $250 but given our situation he would give us a break and we only had to pay a 150. The day of our hearing arrived and Scott was not there. The trustee had us call him and Scott said another attorney was there waiting but he was late. When the trustee asked us about specific paperwork being signed we realized we hadn't signed it. The only communication that we had with Scott was via email and via phone we had never been to his office or met him in person. The trustee was concerned about this and filed a continuance and we were told he was going to reach out to Scott in regards to the situation. In addition when the trusty showed us the paperwork we realized only our personal information was listed on the BK. We asked the trustee why our business stuff wasn't listed and he said that Scott only filed personal. My husband and I both very frustrated at this point and didn't understand why Scott had told us in previous conversations that are business and personal were included in the bankruptcy. On a side note we were getting calls from business debt collectors that were saying we weren't in bankruptcy and we would speak with Scott about it and he said it must be some sort of miscommunication because we have all this stuff and it's filed in your BK paperwork. After leaving the hearing we started receiving several calls from Scott. When my husband spoke with him he was frantic and said we needed to come into his office to sign the paperwork that that trustee had asked about. We told him we were unable to get to his office so he was trying really hard to get a paralegal to come out to our house to sign documents. He told us the document should have been signed but if we signed them he could let the trustee know that it was a misunderstanding as long as the paperwork was back dated. We told him we would come into his office the next day however my husband and I discussed it and were very uneasy with the way he was acting over the phone. We then reached out to the bankruptcy court and found out that there was actually a hearing going on that same day in regards to some other cases that he had handled. This was very disturbing and my husband called him the next day to get answers and ask him about getting a refund. My husband started off by asking Scott why the trustee only had our personal information listed on the BK. Scott started to get very defensive and was unable to answer the question. He told my husband his business had 0 value but when my husband asked him what his business was Scott was unable to answer the question. He then very quickly told my husband he did not want to be our attorney anymore and " Good luck with getting your refund you loser" When my husband had called the bankruptcy court they forwarded us over cases pending about Scott. My husband sent another e-mail explaining the information that was sent to us and once again asked Scott for the refund. At this point Scott became very erratic and started sending emails about us threatening him, saying that I had my husband forge a signature, and other statements that were untrue. Please before you retain him please call the bankruptcy court they will be able to give you the same information that they gave us. Do not hire untill you research!

Excellent Attorney

I went to my consultation and hired Mr. Forrester to file my chapter 7. The firm filed my case the next day and stopped my garnishment immediately. I'm thankful for Scott and his staff for helping me and my family through a difficult time.

Bad advice and did not follow through on violations by creditor.

I hired him to advise and oversee possible bankruptcy.. He asked if I wanted to keep my business. I said emphatically yes. He said file chapter 7 because Chapt. 11 would demand money back and take four years to restructure. I said I wanted to rebuild the business and didn't know why it failed. h...e never said the business I own that is incorporated would be considered an asset to be sold off by the Trustee, or that someone could offer to buy it. That is what happened. Two years later, I have to rebuy the business or have it auctioned off. His response was threatening, totally false and defamatory. He said I was eighty years old, was diagnosed with dementia, all untrue. He called the incorporated business a pyramid scheme I did not own. There is more, but this lawyer badly advised me. I am not blaming him for my bankruptcy. I blame him for his bad advice that cost me and is still not resolved. The pro bono lawyer represented me and said I should never have filed a chapter 7 and withdrew just now because it has taken 2 years though discharged, and he can't work for free anymore though he tried to get me the justice I deserve, but I don't have the funds to rebuy my business. This is not spite, but my honest summary of the consequences of his bad advice. Others have made bad reviews, but they disappeared from his profile. His response to my complaint is false aggressive. I have dementia and am 80 yrs. old, and I don't own the business, that we retained him three years ago. All falsehoods. He responded he would sue me if I don't take down this review. I blame him, not for the personal financial problems for which I hired him, but for telling me to file the wrong bankruptcy, then refusing to advise the court of bad conduct by a creditor who now wants to buy the business from the Trustee, unless I rebuy it from the Trustee.
