I was with a different lawyer at the time when my petition was denied due to the Adam Walsh Act. The only way to reverse this denial is to get a "waiver". These "waivers" are very, very difficult to get. Knowing I was facing a uphill battle I hired Ms. Salvatierra to take over my case. We went to her because we were referred to her, we had an appointment with her @ 6pm we get to her office and she is not available for us because she was taking care of someone else, we explain to her our situation by the front desk and she said that she didn't think that she could take our case an... other attorney shows up she explains the situation and he said that their could be a chance to do the case, Delia tell us i will call you tomorrow and she did and said that she could take the case. Mind you she didn't charge us for taking care of us the first time we were at her office. The following day she gave me an appointment, but later on the week her office called and changed our appointment, we told her it was very important for her to start the case right away, we had made a deal over the phone that she was going to charge $3,500 and no charge for the consultation fee and that was the reason for that appointment to sign a contract. The day of the appointment Delia tells the front desk girl to charge the $150 consultation fee then she take me in and she tell me that she CAN'T take the case, well if she knew that she wasn't going to take the case why did she charge me and why did she say she would take a case when clearly she new that she wasn't capable to take the case.
