Merton Eleazer Marks

Merton Marks is a nationally recognized trial lawyer and arbitrator with experience in trials, appeals, administrative hearings, arbitrations, mediations and special master appointments in business disputes, product liability, insurance, reinsurance and securities. He was a Judge Pro Tempore on the Arizona Court of Appeals, Arizona Assistant Attorney General and counsel to the Arizona Industrial Commission. He is a former Captain in the Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps.

He authored more than 50 published articles and has lectured on litigation, arbitration and mediation at national and international legal and business conferences. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of London and the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. He is active in cultural, charitable and military organizations.

Mr. Marks graduated from Northwestern University College of Arts and Sciences (BS) and Law School (JD). He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona Sections of Alternative Dispute Resolution, Business Law, Construction Law and Securities Regulation. He is the former chairperson of the American Bar Association’s Special Committee on Federal Asbestos Legislation and former chairperson of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel’s Sections on Alternate Dispute Resolution and Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Litigation. He is an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association in Commercial, Reinsurance and Large Complex Cases and a Certified Arbitrator for The Reinsurance & Insurance Arbitration Society. He is admitted to practice in Arizona and Illinois.
