Jonathan David Dodart

Mr. Dodart is the founder and creator of Solar Legal, PLLC, an energies based law firm, and the premier law firm for solar based energy. After receiving his California Bar license in 2015, Mr. Dodart received national media attention for his crucial role in exposing a $71 million white-collar fraud scheme and obtaining convictions, in a joint federal collaboration with the U.S. Dept. of Labor, FBI, U.S. Attorneys Office and other federal agencies. For these convictions, Mr. Dodart was awarded a commendation by the Director of the FBI, Mr. James Comey, the U.S. Attorneys Office Law Enforcement award, and Department of Labor’s Excellence Award. Mr. Dodart left government practice for civil litigation at one of Southern California’s largest law firms. There, he secured millions in judicial awards and settlements, winning accolades and establishing himself as a trusted advocate by the courts and his clients. His consistent performance led to him being recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyer for the last four consecutive years.

Yet, his entrepreneurial spirit beckoned. In 2019, Mr. Dodart founded his firm, focusing on business litigation. Through industry insights and business interactions, he discerned a distinct need for specialized legal representation within the energies sector, and specifically, with solar energy. Mr. Dodart transitioned his firm’s direction, swiftly becoming a trusted advocate for numerous leading solar companies, and industry celebrities. His expertise was soon acknowledged at Solar Con, the nation's first and primary solar-focused convention, where he was aptly introduced as "The Lawyer for Solar."

As the firm evolved, Mr. Dodart rebranded to "Solar Legal, PLLC," emphasizing legal representation in energy law, and applied for a trademark for "The Lawyer for Solar." Under his leadership, the firm has seen exponential growth, attracting top attorneys and business experts, who share his vision and commitment to the ever growing energy and solar sectors.

Mr. Dodart maintains his bar licenses in Utah and California, and is certified to appear before the United States District Court for the Central District of California, the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, the United States 5th district, as well as the Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He is also a proud member of the Los Angeles and Orange County Bar Association, as well as the Utah Trial Lawyers Association for Justice.

Outside his professional commitments, Mr. Dodart thrives in the live music scene, attending any electronic festival he can. He is also an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America and has been honored with the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, for his dedication to others.
