Throughout my career I have focused on the Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S) matters in business and industry. I am now inactive as an attorney so I only provide professional consulting and regulatory assistance with regards to these subject matters. I bring 30+ years of professional EHS&S experience from the plant level to the corporate board room in addition to my previous EHS&S law practice. In addition, I have extensive experience in representing my clients and their concerns to government officials at Federal, State and Local levels and in achieving legislative and regulatory outcomes that assist my clients in successfully operating their businesses. I have significant experience in private practice providing counsel to clients in the areas of solid and hazardous waste, air and water issues. I have represented Fortune 500 Corporations in numerous environmental permitting and enforcement matters before federal, state and local agencies. Much of my career has been "in house" in executive management roles related to EHS&S. Other areas in which I have been active include commercial insurance and risk management, real estate and general business matters.
I bring a unique perspective to the EHS&S consulting practice on behalf of my clients having held both EHS&S legal and management positions in global, major US and regional businesses. I have been president of an environmental related business of a major global 500 business and served on the board of directors or another environmental services business. I have earned a BS in engineering, a MS in engineering management along with a J.D. degree.
I have extensive experience in heavy industry, mining and processing as well as agriculture. I have recently retired my law license in Utah and its Federal Courts. I have been licensed in Ohio and am now on inactive status and was previously licensed in Michigan before moving to Utah. I was previoulsy registered as a Lobbyist in Utah. I have "retired" my professional engineering license in Ohio and my Certified Safety Professional designation. I have held a number of other EHS&S/Insurance professional designations.
I am originally from Ohio and have lived mostly in Ohio and Michigan before moving to Utah in 2003.
In addition, I own Crimson Desert Realty, LLC a real estate brokerage dealing with "executive" properties in the St. George, Utah area.
I look forward to providing consulting advice to my clients. I now provide no legal services to any of my clients but will consult with licensed counsel as necessary.
