Highly recommend

We started the immigration process in November of 2013. Kim was the second immigration lawyer we had met with, and right away felt at ease with her knowledge and experience. Kim and her team made the daunting process easy. Her ability to make one feel as if they are her only client is rare. The abili...ty to call or email anytime was very comforting when needed. if you are in need of an immigration lawyer, do yourself a favor and call Kim.

An Excellent Attorney / Una abogada excelente

Kim Buhler is an incredibly talented, capable, and ethical lawyer, and I recommend her to anyone looking to retain an immigration attorney. The following brief comments are characteristic of my experiences with her. I had a question at one point regarding a possible shortcut in the naturalization p...rocess for my husband. Kim didn't know the answer 100%, yet wasn't afraid to call other attorney-colleagues to double check so she could give me the absolute truth, regardless of how it impacted my situation. This helped me see how deeply she cares about her clients and about being a thorough and capable advocate for them. Kim is, of course, very punctual and timely in responding to calls, texts, and emails. She is respectful to all parties involved and issues carbon-copied emails to prevent any gap of misunderstanding. She informed us of things to work on for the permanent resident interview months in advance and prepared us with mock interviews. Truly, choosing an immigration attorney can be a daunting experience. A lot of little errors on the attorney's end can wind you up into bigger trouble later on. Working with Kim, however, on immigration documents that required so much attention to detail, and on a matter that affected me and my family in such a huge way, I was able to rest peacefully at night.

Highly recommended!

My husband and I met with Kim back in December of 2013 right before Christmas. Just short of a month ago we had our immigration interview in SLC and my husband received his green card in the mail two weeks ago. This was a very foreign process for me and she made it so much easier. She walked me thr...ough all the steps and made me feel very confident that I would be able to complete the paperwork.

Would not recommend!

My fiance and I went to Kim for help and guidance with my fiance's immigration papers. Before we even went into her office, she was rudely barking orders to her assistant. Once we were in, she rushed us through our appointment and hastily told us what we needed to put together. She gave us the option... of her filling out all of the paperwork and filing it, or have us fill it out and have her review it to save money. We decided to save money and just have her review it. My fiance went back to have her review all the paperwork by himself, and he got very frustrated. She didn't hardly explain anything, and rushed him out of the office. She didn't listen to his questions. She just quickly told him what was wrong and pushed him out of the office. We decided to go to a different lawyer just to double check our paperwork once we fixed what she told us was wrong, and I'm so glad we did!! She told us that he only needed 6 passport pictures, and that we made enough money for me to support him. The new lawyer said that we needed 8 passport pictures, and that together we didn't make enough money. We were able to get a new affidavit of support and successfully complete our paperwork. I'm so grateful we didn't send in all of our papers after meeting with Kim Buhler. We would've wasted over $1400 there and have his forms get rejected! Going to Kim Buhler was a waste of time and money. I DO NOT recommend going to see her for any legal advice!

I want to sincerely apologize for the experience you and your fiance had with me during your consultation. While I always try to be focused on each of my clients through all consultations, I must not have been at my best that day. I appreciate getting the review, however, because it allows me the opportunity to see where I can make improvements. We have put new policies in place at my office so that this will not be the experience of anyone in the future. In my 20 years of immigration practice, I have not ever sent in 8 passport pictures with a residency application so I'm not sure what your other attorney looked at. Every attorney, however, has their different styles so maybe that was the new lawyers preference. As for the Affidavit of Support issues, the regulations are very clear that if your fiance made $19,662 then he met the poverty rate. If he didn't make that amount then we would have had to multiply the difference by 3 and find those in assets or else get a joint sponsor. I sincerely regret that you had a negative experience at my office. If possible, I would like to make this up to you somehow. If you have another case in the future that you need assistance with (ie: removing conditions of residency in 2 years) I would be happy to meet with you at no cost to answer any questions that you might have. Please remind me of this message so that I give the free consultation promised here. Again, I sincerely apologize for the experience you had at my office, but thank you for your feedback. As stated above, this gives me a chance to improve and change some of my own - and our office's - policies.

Great Attorney

Kim Buhler and her staff are excellent immigration attorneys. My experience with Kim and her staff has been professional ; informed ; kind and personal. Kim is full of energy and has always provided me with options and has always answered my questions. My previous experience with immigration attor...neys has be institutional. Kim has shown a personal interest in my situation. She shows passion and friendliness. Immigration for me prior to Kim Buhler has been a step into the dark ; with Kim and her company I have always felt that she addresses not only my legal matters but she understands the stresses and pressures associated with the process on me and my family. Her actions have always been in my best interests and she is extremely detail oriented. Each step of the process has been overseen by her personally even though she has and experienced and friendly staff who are also highly informed and experienced. This process has not been an easy one for me and my family but Kim and her staff has been there every step of the way. I have dealt with a number of attorneys during this process and when I found Kim I knew I was in good hands. She has exceeded all of my expectations.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
