Great experience

Kyle has helped me with my divorce and has been great to work with. I feel like he’s a big brother watching out for me. During mediation he was great to work with and got me a great settlement. As more problem arise he has been there to walk me through the steps to deal with those new things.

Disappointed

Kyle is a good attorney and a good person. He helped me through a messy divorce. He also charges far less than what I expected and I made him aware of that. When it came time to hire a family law attorney again I immediately reached out to him. However, my last two experiences were disappointing. Dur...ing my first and only meditation I ever went through I felt like I did all of the talking expecting Kyle to help, but looking back at that occasion I feel like I was on my own in that room. I challenged Kyle on verbiage that I didn't agree with on the final mediation document to which he assured me wouldn't impact the outcome. So I signed based on his legal advice and am now realizing it may cost me. A little over a month ago I asked Kyle for help again on another issue and this time with reservations. I should've went with my gut. Throughout the process the last month I felt like I was the one doing the driving. I became irate at nothing being done or at minimum being kept apprised of the situation to my satisfaction as a client. To that extent I ended our business relationship today in the midst of the process. My personal review is this, sometimes he's awesome and sometimes he's not, with Kyle, you pay for what you get and I am prepared and more than willing to pay more for better service.

Timeliness cost me in my divorce

Would never, ever, ever hire Kyle again. Very nice guy, but not communicative about my case. I had urgency to file and between May and September, my ex was never served! And I finalized with him and got in everything I needed by early-June. I finally had to fire him and get a new lawyer to take over ...the case. My new lawyer filed THAT NIGHT. However, the delay made things worse between my ex and I, and he was no longer willing to give me the things he once agreed to early on. The lack of progress on my case affected my divorce and my relationship with my ex.

I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed in your experience with my representation. You have chosen to remain anonymous in your review, and I of course respect that. Nevertheless, identifying you among my clients was not difficult (despite the fact that you wrote this review now when we parted ways over 6 months ago). I think the following bears note: •••••• First, I strive for client satisfaction and service above all else. The fact that you believe you did not receive that is something I take personally and find unacceptable. •••••• Second, as you know but did not mention, you were represented by me while at my previous law firm (which included that law firm's staff) for all but the last two weeks of my representation--during which time you were then represented by me at my newly formed law firm. You will no doubt recall that a big part of starting my own firm was my desire to improve client service through a more direct, hands-on approach to my clients and cases. All indications are that I have succeeded in that regard. •••••• Third, during those two weeks, I did significant work on your case. Work for which you were never billed--never charged so much as a single cent. I didn't have to do that, but I did; as a courtesy. Your documents were ready to file, and we had discussed them at length. Then, on a Friday, you gave me permission to file them--permission you revoked the next Monday when you decided without explanation you needed to change your strategy and your lawyer. I was genuinely chagrined to see you go in a different direction, but obviously accepted and supported your decision. •••••• Fourth, I am not surprised in the least that, when the rubber hit the road and it was time to actually negotiate a binding resolution, your former spouse turned out to be far less amenable to a sweetheart deal than your ex had led you to believe. That is extraordinarily common in divorces, as I told you and tell every client in that situation. I am truly sorry to hear that it happened to you after you left my representation. I'd like to think that had we continued together, the deal you struck--and your relationship with your ex--would both be better off. •••••• Fifth, and finally, if you ever need to enforce or modify your current agreement with your former spouse, I hope you'll reach out to me again. I would love an opportunity to change your mind--on the house. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Best, Kyle E. Witherspoon, J.D.

Best High-Conflict Family Law Attorney!

Kyle Witherspoon is one of the most credible and knowledgeable divorce attorneys I’ve worked with. In my professional life, I encounter legal negotiations daily and have worked with a range of law firms. Kyle has proven himself a rise above some of the perceived “greats” out there in his profession, ...making a name for himself by being honest, straightforward, logical and beyond hardworking. He pairs that with a true empathy for his clients and a desire to help them see what is in their best interest even when they can’t see it themselves. His specialty in High-Conflict, High-Emotion situations are hands-down the best! To say my expectations have been exceeded would be selling my experience short. My expectations have been carefully cultivated through the guidance that Kyle has given me and he has the backing of an elite group of colleagues that regard him highly, which was so nice to see, further validating my choice. How refreshing to not be nickel & dimed but trusted for what can be managed and working together as a unified team for what is best for my case. If you are ever in need of an attorney, call Kyle Witherspoon! I highly and emphatically recommend him!

Complicated Child Reunification

My blended family was dealt a surprise when our child's biological father decided after years away from his responsibility to show up and re-assert his parental rights. My wife and I had recently been married and shortly after we tied the knot we were slapped with an order to appear in court. We had... actually retained a different attorney and Kyle happened to have filled in on a day the original counselor was already scheduled. On short notice Kyle was able to step in and we were extremely impressed at his ability to argue our case. After this we opted to move forward with Kyle as our attorney. As it turns out our case had dragged on by design of the opposition's counsel. We had spent a little over a year in a pedantic battle for preserving a wholesome life for a great kid. I think the things that made us stick to such a long fight was a great lawyer that was able to help us with all of nuances that a long court battle takes. He was aggressive when it was needed but knew how to be subtle when it came to family law sensitivities. He is well versed in understanding what it takes to get something through the courts without appearing to be over demanding or unreasonable. In short, Kyle is a great lawyer and we would highly recommend him.
