Kate Conyers is a trial attorney at Conyers & Nix PC. In the past ten years, she has successfully handled over a thousand criminal defense and DUI cases—from simple misdemeanors such as drug possession and domestic violence to serious felonies such as aggravated assault, auto theft, drug distribution, robbery, and sex offenses. Before joining private practice, Ms. Conyers served as a public defender at Salt Lake Legal Defenders.

Ms. Conyers is the Immediate Past President of the Women Lawyers of Utah (WLU) and she serves on the boards of the Salt Lake County Bar Association, Utah Center for Legal Inclusion, YWCA of Utah, and Rocky Mountain Innocence Center. She also serves as a Small Claims Judge Pro Tempore and as a mentor to young lawyers through the Utah State Bar. Ms. Conyers is a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College at Mercer School of Law, Macon, Georgia.

Ms Conyers has been recognized by Legal Elite in Criminal Law, 2014-2017. She was awarded the Sandra Day O'Connor Award for Professional Service and the Young Lawyer of the Year Award by the Utah State Bar. In 2014, Ms. Conyers received the Pro Bono Publico Young Lawyer of the Year Award and the Scott M. Matheson Award for the American Voter Project on behalf of the Young Lawyers Division. Most recently, in 2018, Ms. Conyers received the Distinguished Alumna Award from the University of Utah.

Kate Conyers Review
Katherine Conyers was an excellent lawyer. She informed and educated me on several topics within my case including informing on extra resources. She communicated very well and responded quickly. Kate Conyers Review
Kate made me feel like my life wasn’t over, while that sounds dramatic now a year later after we met and she agreed to represent me. The justice system is intimidating but Kate as my representation guided me the whole way. She answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable to discuss anything that I didn’t understand well enough. She was thorough and always provided a prompt follow up.

Energetic, knowledgeable, frank, effective, caring. So glad we had Kate Conyers on our side!
It was a gut-wrenching process for us to help our son get legal representation for some serious charges he faced recently. We knew that the charges could have long-term serious consequences. Selecting legal counsel was of paramount importance in helping him, a first-time offender, to resolve this and move on. We visited several defense attorneys, but he decided to be represented by the attorneys at Conyers & Nix. We are beyond grateful that he chose them. From the start, Kate Conyers has been frank, honest, and knowledgeable, yet caring and concerned for our son. She discussed with us the legal process that would he would go through, and what the most positive outcomes could be. She helped him prepare and take steps necessary to result in the said favorable outcome. Even though Kate represented our son, she was always willing to meet with us, the parents, to discuss the status and to provide explanations at each step of the legal process. Kate’s positive outlook, confidence and guidance have been a great blessing to us during stressful period for our family. Kate got our son’s charges and sentence significantly reduced. She personally took steps after the sentencing appearance to ensure that the sentence would be carried out with our son’s best interest in mind. The outcome in the case was much better that we had ever anticipated. Kate has continued to show care and concern for our son and had been a great influence and mentor in helping him get back on his feet, and get his life turned around. We are ever so grateful for her efforts on his behalf. We were also impressed with partner Jesse Nix on the couple of occasions we spoke with him. We and would recommend Conyers & Nix to anyone.
