Child Support

Brad Carr is the reason I am behind on child support for $8000. I hired Brad in early 2022 due to my ex taking time away from me with my kids. During the course of the proceedings my ex wanted to recalculate Child Support. To which I agreed since I did make more money then when we first got divorced.... At a hearing in Dec 2022 I agreed to provide my most recent pay stub to my ex and her attorney to recalculate child support. I sent this to Brad literally the day after court. A few weeks later Brad reached out and asked for more than what was documented and agreed upon in court. I told Brad I will not provide any other information than what was agreed upon in court and that if my ex wanted more information, she would need to provide her information first. Brad said I have a valid argument for this. In Feb 2023 I asked Brad to reach out to ensure the new calculation for Child Support was done, Brad reached out and again was met with request from my ex and her attorney to provide more information than what was required and agreed upon in court. I told Brad I want this recalculated now so that I'm not behind on child support. I again reached out to Brad in May 2023 and asked why the delay in calculation, Brad's response was, 'she has all the information she needs, she just hasn't calculated it yet'. We went to mediation in Aug 2023 and I asked again to have everything calculated, which Brad assured me again that the delay is on my ex and her attorney because they have everything they need. We again went to court in Nov 2023 and in court, me ex and her attorney stood in from of the commissioner and said that I had never provided my pay stub that was required from the Dec 2022 hearing. Brad sat and said nothing while we were in court, he just looked completely dumbfounded. I even asked Brad while sitting in court to please stand up and say that I did infact provide my pay stub the day after the Dec 2022 hearing. Brad didn't even respond to me. After the hearing I told Brad I would not pay him his attorney fees because of the way he handled the hearing on Nov 2023 and I told him he should have said I did provide my pay stub. I fired Brad and got a new attorney. With my new attorney I found out that even though I provided Brad with my pay stub the day after our Dec 2022 court hearing, Brad never provided it to the court. Therefore I'm no in arears of $8k. Imagine trusting an attorney with this much experience and find out he missed something so simple, for well over a year? And Brad continued to make me believe that my pay stub, which again was required and agreed upon by me in court, and provided to Brad the day after court, was never, ever filed with the court. Don't trust Brad with your money or time. Go find a better attorney.

An attorney you can rely on

Brad has been helping me with my custody and other legal issues for several years now and I am just glad that there’s still attorney like him who hasn’t forgot why they went to law school in the first place. I am giving this review on my own without him asking for it because he deserves this hone...st review. He is very efficient in terms of time and costs and more importantly doesn’t leave you hanging when the situation gets tough/difficult. He always has the time to answer any questions and gets back to you within a day. It is hard to find someone like him these days. I wish there would be more attorneys out there like him. What a great guy!
