Strong divorce attorney

Emy is very seasoned at understanding the divorce process and how to best prepare and for and minimize risks in the divorce and custody process . She worked with me very closely through a tough process and ensured I was carefully advised of the potential consequences and in a position of strength , d...uring a very tough time . Custody was my primary concern and she was very attentive and informed on this topic . Overall I felt she had my back in a challenging situation . I would highly recommend her for both divorce and custody representation.

EMY DID NOT CARE.

I went to see Emy for the first consult because my ex’s lawyer was trying to push me around and I needed a lawyer to fight for me. Emy acted like she cared about my case, then I decided to to schedule a second appointment because she gave me the impression she would help me. Her assistant cancelled ...and rescheduled my appointment, I waited 1 month to talk to Emy because I thought it would be worth the wait. While waiting to meet with Emy I sent her an Email for her to know why I would like her to represent me, she didn’t respond. I called her office to make sure The appointment is still on to see her, there was no answer. She finally texted me asking if I was still coming in for my appointment, I told her yes. I took time off from work, went to see her, I was 20 mins early, she rudely told me to leave her office because I was too early and to come back. I went back after the 20 minutes, we talked, she told me she’ll take my case, she took my consult fee of $225. It took Emy 2 days to send the agreement papers. I filled it all out, had a friend take the paper work to her because I couldn’t take more time off from work. Miss Emy sat on my case for almost two weeks and did nothing. At one point I mistakenly texted her about my case and she rudely replied that I should never text her again on her phone. A week later I messaged her some questions about my case because I haven’t heard from her and all she did was message my ex’s lawyer and not the court, that’s when Emy told me she can’t do my case because she didn’t have time. I was very upset because I went through the hassle of waiting for her, taking time off from work, paying her my consult fee, having my friend take her the paperwork. Then she tells me she can’t do my case because she did Not have the time. Emy is rude, not nice and not very professional. I would say don’t waste your time going to her.

EMY ABSOLUTELY CARES AND CARES ABOUT YOU. I’m so sorry you feel this way. It is never my intention to have anyone leave my office dissatisfied or feeling this way. Because I go to great lengths to provide the highest level of legal advice, service, and attention to every one of my clients, I take your comments very seriously. Let me address some of them here: 1) I run a busy practice which is why you had to wait to meet with me, you didn’t have to. I appreciate that you did though. 2) My appointment confirmation system specifically asks one not to arrive more than 5/10 mins early in order to preserve client confidentiality. You were a half hour early. I was meeting with a client, the office is very small, I asked you to wait in the lobby. This was for your privacy and privilege and theirs, and confidentiality was preserved. It wasn't rude or unprofessional. It's a boundary and applied to everyone, not just you. 3) You were advised of the cost of the consultation at the time you confirmed the appointment and agreed upon confirmation to pay. You could have chosen not to meet with me but you did. We discussed your case in-depth and I made several recommendations and the cost of that time was not refundable. 4) Your communications via email were difficult to understand and sent repeatedly over short periods of time. I am extremely responsive to my clients but no one expects immediate responses from an attorney - especially for non-emergent situations. I cannot respond immediately even if I wanted to because I'm in court or meeting with other clients. I typically respond within a few hours, rarely a day, but I always respond. My time frame fell outside of your expectations. 5) I reached out to the opposing counsel to let him know I was representing you. No court filing was necessary at that point and had it been I would have filed it. For all these reasons it became abundantly clear to me that I could not meet your expectations. Therefore, instead of delaying your matter or dropping the ball (as you said your previous attorney had done) or taking your money and disappointing you any further, I realized very quickly I was not the right attorney for you. IT WAS BECAUSE I CARED ABOUT YOU THAT I terminated the representation immediately and refunded the retainer in full. As a business owner and professional I'm very aware that I cannot please everyone no matter the quality, integrity, effectiveness, or professionalism of my work. I would be more than happy to discuss this further with you should you decide to reach out to me. Please contact me directly at 801-821-8561. Thank you for taking the time.

Amazing Experience

I was referred to consult with Emy for my mediation case from a mutual friend. After meeting with Emy, I immediately hired her to help me with my case because I knew that she cared about my current situation and willing to help on short notice. Emy is very professional and kept me in the loop through...out the whole process. I was very happy and satisfied with the outcome of my case. Emy is very diligent and willing to go the extra mile to make sure I was happy. I will definitely hire Emy in the future and I would highly recommend working with Emy if you are needing an attorney that will fight for you.

A Powerful Ally

Emy knew about what needed to happen for my specific divorce case. She knew which papers I would need to keep the case running smoothly. She fought very tactfully and powerfully for my case. I would recommend her to anyone requiring a divorce attorney.

Very Knowledgeable

I am so thankful I found Emy. She and her staff were so helpful, supportive and provided great advice and information for all of the steps in a difficult and occasionally bizarre divorce. Her knowledge of the law and the proceedings were invaluable. I was very lucky to have her by my side.
