When it comes to family law, there is no substitute for experience. For nearly two decades, I have utilized an aggressive and compassionate approach to protect the rights of each client and to look out for their best interests. Unlike most Salt Lake City divorce attorneys, I am one of the few female lawyers to run my own law firm. The majority of divorce lawyers simply provide legal representation. I can do so much more. Not only do I focus on protecting the rights and interests of each client during a case, I also place a high priority on preparing clients for life after a divorce. Most importantly, you do not have to be wealthy to receive the best possible legal representation. You get the whole package at my law firm at reasonable, doable rates.
Like many of my clients, I have also experienced the emotional pain, stress and financial hardships that come with a divorce. I understand your perspective. I am fully prepared to provide comprehensive legal representation to help you achieve the best results. It is critical to have a Salt Lake City family law attorney on your side. There are no winners when it comes to divorce. But there certainly are losers. I have often heard Utah judges and commissioners say that they know they have ruled right in a case when both parties leave the courtroom unhappy. Choosing the right attorney can often make the difference between protecting your rights to parent-time with your children, your rights to your assets or losing much of what you have rightfully earned.
My passion for family law began with my divorce.
During that time, I experienced the impact a poorly-equipped divorce attorney can have on a person’s life. From that point, I became determined to help others avoid the pitfalls I had experienced. I have become deeply rooted in the Salt Lake City community and support a variety of causes both locally and internationally. I have also represented clients throughout Utah, including Provo, Orem, American Fork, Lehi, Layton, Roy, Clearfield, Ogden, Logan, Vernal, Roosevelt, Duchesne, Tooele, Draper, Sandy, and Park City.
What makes me different from other Salt Lake City family law attorneys is my passion and drive. It is an approach that I apply to all my cases. I am a self-made woman who believes in the value of hard work and helping others achieve success. When I am not practicing family law, I spend time outdoors, enjoying motor sports and living life at more than 100 miles per hour. Fear is not a part of my DNA. When selecting a Salt Lake City divorce lawyer, it is important to have representation from a lawyer that will use the best strategies, and maximum effort to put each client in the best possible position to succeed in mediation, in a settlement, or in the courtroom, and in their future.

EMY DID NOT CARE.
I went to see Emy for the first consult because my ex’s lawyer was trying to push me around and I needed a lawyer to fight for me. Emy acted like she cared about my case, then I decided to to schedule a second appointment because she gave me the impression she would help me. Her assistant cancelled ...
EMY ABSOLUTELY CARES AND CARES ABOUT YOU. I’m so sorry you feel this way. It is never my intention to have anyone leave my office dissatisfied or feeling this way. Because I go to great lengths to provide the highest level of legal advice, service, and attention to every one of my clients, I take your comments very seriously. Let me address some of them here: 1) I run a busy practice which is why you had to wait to meet with me, you didn’t have to. I appreciate that you did though. 2) My appointment confirmation system specifically asks one not to arrive more than 5/10 mins early in order to preserve client confidentiality. You were a half hour early. I was meeting with a client, the office is very small, I asked you to wait in the lobby. This was for your privacy and privilege and theirs, and confidentiality was preserved. It wasn't rude or unprofessional. It's a boundary and applied to everyone, not just you. 3) You were advised of the cost of the consultation at the time you confirmed the appointment and agreed upon confirmation to pay. You could have chosen not to meet with me but you did. We discussed your case in-depth and I made several recommendations and the cost of that time was not refundable. 4) Your communications via email were difficult to understand and sent repeatedly over short periods of time. I am extremely responsive to my clients but no one expects immediate responses from an attorney - especially for non-emergent situations. I cannot respond immediately even if I wanted to because I'm in court or meeting with other clients. I typically respond within a few hours, rarely a day, but I always respond. My time frame fell outside of your expectations. 5) I reached out to the opposing counsel to let him know I was representing you. No court filing was necessary at that point and had it been I would have filed it. For all these reasons it became abundantly clear to me that I could not meet your expectations. Therefore, instead of delaying your matter or dropping the ball (as you said your previous attorney had done) or taking your money and disappointing you any further, I realized very quickly I was not the right attorney for you. IT WAS BECAUSE I CARED ABOUT YOU THAT I terminated the representation immediately and refunded the retainer in full. As a business owner and professional I'm very aware that I cannot please everyone no matter the quality, integrity, effectiveness, or professionalism of my work. I would be more than happy to discuss this further with you should you decide to reach out to me. Please contact me directly at 801-821-8561. Thank you for taking the time.
