Exceptional Attorney

I hired Jeff to handle my child custody case. Jeff worked tirelessly. He handled all the details and constantly was looking at every angle to get the desired results. In the end we reached a very positive settlement in my case. Jeff gets it done! I highly recommend him.

Worth Every Penny

We reached out to Jeff during a very stressful time. He was always calm and thoughtful. Jeff provided great insight into the issue and provided excellent advice and guidance. He always made time for us and patiently answered all our questions.

Thanks Jeff!!

I have nothing but good things to say. I switched to Jeffs representation, after being disappointed with my previous lawyer, and it was, by far, the best decision I made for my divorce. His advice and directions made me feel both protected and confident in my representation. He’s knowledgeable, calm,... calculated, and at the same time, aggressive when he needs to be -- the qualities, I think, that make Jeff a great lawyer.

Unprofessional

I hired Jeff in September of 2017. He told me due to the urgency of the case that he would see me on Saturday even though he only works Monday-Friday. He let me know that due to it being on a Saturday and the urgency of the case that he would see me at his home office. Upon arriving I was taken aba...ck at how un perfessioal this all seemed but Jeff is a very smooth talker and assured me that this was just his home office. He spoke with me about my case for possibly 30 mins and then for the rest of the time seemed more Interested In hanging out with me rather than discussing my case, even though he was still billing me for that time. The next two visits I had with him during the week day were at his home office as well. I slowly learned that he did not have a professional office he worked out of. When going to court Jeff sounded confident outside of the court house but immediately when we walked in all confidence was gone. Jeff lost me custody of my child based on a peice of paper that was not sighted or notorized and shouldn’t have even been submissonable in court. I’m am not an attorney therefore I had no idea of this or how it worked. After loosing my child Jeff then told me he thought the case was over that I wouldn’t win. He even told me if I wanted to find new representation that I should. I asked him to return the 10 grand in attorney fees that he some how came up with based on time that he never used appropriately. I was able to hire another attorney who not only got my child back for me but I now have 100 percent sole and legal custody of my child and it was easy for him! If Jeff has paid more attention to my case instead of trying to form a “friendship” with me then I believe I wouldn’t have had my child taken away from me in the first place. I was able to get 4 thousand back from him and I guess that’s better then nothing but I strongly advise against hiring Jeff Cotton if you want to win a case or you want a professional simply based off of what I have seen and witnessed, he is incapable of both.

EXCELSIOR!

From the moment I met with Jeff, I knew he was the guy. He listened to every detail, went through all of my paperwork and then couldn't wait to get the other attorney on the phone. Jeff knows protocol, he is one heck of a multi Tasker (crossing every "T" and dotting every "I"). Jeff is prompt in resp...onse when you have concerns or questions and he is fair with his billing and deserves it promptly too :)

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"Jeffrey got involved late in a very complex divorce and custody battle where I represented one of the parties. Negotiations with the previous attorney had completely stalled and both parties were in a complete standoff. It only took 3 days of working with Jeffrey to get the case back on a track to total resolution. He is an expert in Idaho family law and the process of negotiation. Despite the fact that we represented entirely different interests, I found him to be trustworthy and fair throughout the process. At the end of the day, we were able to negotiate a settlement that both of our clients were happy with. I would rate his honesty, diligence, and legal skills among the top of all lawyers I have worked with throughout my legal career."
