Christopher attended DePaul University College of Law where he graduated Cum Laude and obtained his Juris Doctorate.  Prior to law school, Christopher earned his B.S.B.A in finance with an emphasis in international business from the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business.

At DePaul Law, Christopher’s course load included the core subjects required to earn his J.D., but also coursework meant to give him a greater understanding of alternative dispute resolution (ADR).  During law school, Christopher was a research assistant to Professor Mark Weber, a nationally regarded scholar on disability rights and complex tort litigation.  In addition, Christopher became a licensed mediator with the Chicago Center for Conflict Resolution.  

Christopher is the owner of Christopher R. Cook, PLLC. Christopher focuses his practice on Family Law, Estate Planning, Collaborative Law, and Mediation. 

 Christopher was previously with Fourth Street Law, PLLC and Martin D. Brown, PLLC as an associate attorney. There his practice focused on family/domestic law.  Christopher's experience through his years of practice include litigation, dissolution/divorce, parenting time (custody), allocation of parental responsibilities, child support, common law marriage, adoption, post-decree proceedings/modifications, alternative dispute resolution, negotiation, settlement agreement, and appellate matters (COA).

 Christopher also has experience with office management and systems as well as client development and analytics. 

 Christopher is an active member of various bar associations and volunteers his time for pro-bono legal organizations such as Idaho Volunteer Lawyers, Colorado Volunteer Lawyers, and Chicago Tenants Rights Organization. 

Some other notable experience includes working as a translator for an Italian engineering firm, a statistics TA, and as an associate financial analyst.

Christopher is a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and loves exploring the mountains, playing soccer, mountain biking, and traveling.

Chirs was outstanding representation
Throughout my case Chris was very responsive and diligent. Chris was not only great at with all the motions, repeals etc. but he was also very good during the hearing. Chris coveys a calm collected demeanor and was outstanding in the way he presented my case. The outcome of my case was exactly what I would have hoped for. I would without a doubt recommend Chris Cook if someone is looking for a Family law specialist.

Excellent Lawyer

Fantastic work!

Excellent Attorney!
Christopher is an excellent attorney, and I would highly reccomend him. He is a good listener, extremely knowledgeable, and helped me through an incredibly difficult and complicated divorce. He was very understanding and supportive, as he guided me through my emotional divorce. He was honest, and extremely diligent to achieve the best possible outcome for my case. Christopher has been a tremendous resource for me as well as someone who sincerely cares about the well being of his clients. A court case or appearance is a scary endeavor. However working with Chris has made the process easy to understand and he has helped me to pick and choose my battles.

Carpenter Child Support Case
Chris did an excellent job with my case. He was extremely thorough and responsive. His e-mails and communication where very clear with step by step instructions. He also did a great job in court. I would recommend Chris. I am fairly new to working with lawyers in family law, Chris was very patient and helpful and explaining the process and what I needed to do.

Christopher handled my messy and long drawn out divorce case. I came to Christopher a disorganized mess of paperwork, inaccurate information and a ton of questions. Christopher was excellent, accurate, dependable and compassionate to me while handling my case. Christopher was able to juggle my case, and many others, while being a true professional at all times regardless how crazy things got. He was always polite, courteous, thoughtful, kind when ever I spoke with him either in person or by phone. The instructions and information he supplied me with was necessary, accurate, detailed, honest and sometimes painful for me to deal with. Christopher showed a great deal amount of patience with me throughout my case. I truly appreciated him for that. During my case, it was Christopher who was my rock, the equalizer and my stability. I knew that If there was something that needed my immediate attention, Christopher would keep me on track and on task. Christopher never sugar coated his "best guesses" on the outcome of my case. He was always honest and I knew pretty much what to expect and where I stood. He was compassionate when he had to break bad news to me. He would usually finds something positive to say along with the negative. This sincerity helped me get through the ups and downs of this process of more than a year. I truly had one of the best legal teams representing me because, Christopher was part of it. He kept everyone updated and on the same page at the same time.
