In our situation she did not comply with the request of her client and continued to stir the pot even though the two parents had come to an agreement. Being a good lawyer is more than just always going after the most you feel you can get, but it also means listening to your clients and working tow...ards a mutual resolution. She seems to want to win at all costs - even when it is not her money being spent!!

I hired Tessa Bennett in January and just terminated our client/attorney relationship. I paid the retainer fee and was charged $250 for the consultation. In all this time nothing was ever done for my case. When I called 1 month later after hiring her I was charged $140.00 for a 4 minute phone call in... which I was told Ms Bennett was starting my paperwork that day. A month and a half later I still hadn’t heard or received anything from her. As of 2 days ago I hired a new attorney and let Ms Bennett go. The only good thing Ms Bennett did for me was refunding my full retainer fee. I would never recommend her because I feel she did not take my case seriously and did not want to help me.

I hired Tessa for a custody modification with my ex husband and then my current husband hired her to represent him in a nasty custody battle with his ex. It's been a long 2 years in court but Tessa got us more than we ever expected and we are so grateful! She charges far less than other attorneys of ...her caliber and is always returning my texts, there when we need her, etc. Worth every penny and then some, love her!!

I have had an ongoing custody battle for several years. Through this entire process i have always felt that the attorneys on both sides wanted to just find a resolution and settle the case regardless of what was in the best interest of the child. Its extremely frustrating when you, as a parent know w...hat is in the best interest of your child, but the professionals that you hire to represent you seem to be completely numb to your feelings and frustrations. It's just a bunch of expensive paperwork back and forth that, at the end of the day gets you absolutely nowhere. I spent months looking online for a new attorney that i thought i may feel a connection to, that would, not just listen, but actually hear what i was saying and truly understand my concern. Late one night i came upon Tessa's webpage and read through her profile. There were so may things in her page that reached out to me. I was taking a huge gamble by switching to a new attorney that was unfamiliar with my case, but i called and met with her anyway. She was not an average attorney in a huge office that charged me hundreds to tell her my story that she's probably heard several times. I was very comfortable and felt as if i was talking to a friend right away. I immediately hired her and i felt confident in her. There were periods of time i did not hear from her, but instead of being concerned i was more relived that it wasn't constant emails and phone calls, so that i could actually go about my busy life and not be 100% consumed in this process that seems to never end. I have been through a trial before and i was by no means unsatisfied by my previous attorney's argument and the outcome, but i can honestly say that when Tessa made my argument and presented my case, she did it with everything she had heard me tell her and delivered the message just as good as i could have. There is no one that can argue a case better than a parent, but i'm here to tell you that Tessa did exactly what i have been searching for. She is easy to be around, but also has an aggressive side to her that i have been searching so long for. I wasn't looking for someone that acted as if they wanted to be friends with the opposing party, i was looking for someone to see what the real reason we were there for was and to deliver that message to the judge and Tessa did just that. I cannot thank her enough for her hard work and as ridiculous as this sounds, she is the only attorney i have ever had that i DONT have an anxiety attack when i open my bill from her. She has been more than fair with me and she worked for every dollar she billed me for. She has a client for life and with the nature of the opposing party its exactly that. Thank you Tessa!
