Bryan Norton is an Idaho attorney who focuses his legal practice on real estate law, estate planning, probate, and business law. He has extensive experience in handling short-term rental law issues as well as homeowner association concerns. He is also one of the few attorneys practicing Unmanned Aircraft Systems (drone) law and assisted in drafting Idaho’s current drone statute. He is admitted to practice before all Idaho courts, as well as the Federal District Court for the District of Idaho, and the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Bryan grew up in Southern California, and after high school, enlisted in the United States Army. After his initial training, he was selected to be part of the 75th Ranger Regiment, part of the United States Special Operations Command. After four years, Bryan was honorably discharged from the military and became a police officer in Washington State. During that time, he also earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and history from the University of Washington with honors. After sixteen years, he retired from law enforcement and attended the University of Idaho College of Law, graduating in 2015 and earning a place on the Dean’s List each semester.
After law school, Bryan was in private practice before joining the Boise City Attorney’s Office, where he was one of the primary legal advisors for the Boise Police Department. His wide-ranging practice included advising the officers and command staff on any legal matter coming before the department, including criminal law, criminal procedure, employment law with the Office of Internal Affairs, drafting contracts, handling public records requests, and other legal matters. Bryan taught the legal portion of the Boise Police Department’s Basic Law Enforcement Academy and assisted in developing the legal curriculum for all Idaho Police Officers through the Idaho Peace Officers Standards and Training. He also served as the primary legal advisor for the City of Boise on drone law issues. He has published an article on drone law and has spoken nationally on the subject. Bryan returned to private practice in 2023.
Bryan has been married to his wife, Patty, for thirty years and they have five children and two grandchildren. He is active in community service with his church and enjoys providing pro bono legal work. In 2018, Bryan was recognized as a Leader in Law by the Idaho Business Review.

"I endorse this lawyer. Bryan's life experience in the military, as a police officer and especially as a certified accident reconstruction expert make him an exceptional candidate for those seeking representation in accident and injury cases.
