Hard to work with and get a hold of

He is a one man show. He is hardly available to answer questions. He did a terrible job on my divorce proceeding. He allowed the opposing counsel to file the temp order with bunch of errors, by not filing an objection in a timely manner. In addition he did a terrible job arguing 50/50 legal custody d...uring the temp hearing. My record is clean no drug, physical abuse, or any other cause that would have give the judge to give my ex 100% legal custody. He never responded to my emails and never answered his phone. That should have been a good indication that he is not a good lawyer. He counseled me upto the temp orders and when I finally fired him he sent me a bill for $14k. He was unable to get a hearing on the custody, again because he missed the deadline of filing an objection. Essentially if you want to pay an attorney 56 hours to go to one hearing and get you crappy results, he is the man for the job.

The BEST HANDS DOWN!!!

Hired Attorney Means to handle my high conflict (intimidating ex) divorce and custody. He got me more than 50% of the assets and less than 50% of the debts and primary care giver for my children. This is what I wanted and he nailed it! He does not promise unrealistic rulings but is straight to the... point, knowledgeable, experienced, professional, and never judged me! The definition of professional and courteous!

Great attorney

I was referred to Mark by one of his BSU students after my attorney moved out of state. I can be a challenging client and have difficulty expressing myself, but it didn’t take long for Mark to catch onto what I wanted and where I was coming from. He was knowledgeable in many areas and combined with h...is years of experience, this allowed my case to process quickly with desireable results. He gave me additional suggestions on how to avoid negative interactions with my ex and future court appearances. Mark quietly worked behind the scenes and showed his skills in court. If you are looking for an attorney, I would definitely recommend hiring Mark, the “silent assassin”!

Mark L. Means

Mark helped me for a duration of two years. He was instrumental in the smooth and stress free process of both my divorce and my subsequent bankruptcy. While being extremely knowledgeable as well as personable, Mark Means provided sound legal counsel and I would recommend his services to anyone I know....

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
