I originally consulted with Tom and his team on a possible bankruptcy case when I was in danger of losing my home to foreclosure in 2012. When I didn't qualify for bankruptcy, the knowledge I gained in the interim helped me avoid the foreclosure altogether and I completed a successful short sale shor...tly thereafter. Even with the short sale behind me, I still wanted to get help with the crippling credit card debt I had obtained while trying to make ends meet while paying a mortgage I could not afford. Tom and his team worked tirelessly to help me negotiate all of my debt down to a reasonable, achievable amount (less than half of the original amount!) and got me completely out of debt within a year. I not only got out of debt, but I also got a bit of "credit therapy" and it completely changed my thoughts on using debt and how to manage it. Having their help gave me confidence to move forward and didn't make me feel like a criminal for wanting a better way out of the situation. Continuing to pay the minimums was not going to get me to my financial goals! I cut up all my cards after our first meeting and didn't look back. Today, I'm still completely credit card debt free (though I do have a single credit card for building back my credit score and emergencies), and I was able to buy a home again with my repaired credit. I'm thankful everyday for my life and current financial situation, which was made possible by Tom and his team.
